The Business Architect is responsible for the development, management, and design of products provided by the organization's services for its customers. The Business Architect creates new product solutions, identifies growth opportunities, improves existing product portfolios and completes new product initiatives.

Develops and updates processes to bring products to market efficiently and executes strategies and sales alignment to achieve company growth objectives and profitability. The Business Architect evaluates the market's demands and evolving environment in order to introduce new bank products and services.


Drives the vision and delivery of custody, escrow and payments service and products to be recognized as the market leader in overall service quality and functionality. Be a significant contributor to the design of the organization's technology, process flows and overall product offering.

Analyzes various market segments and collaborate with leadership to prioritize the organization's efforts and focus on the best opportunities to pursue. Coordinates the development of a multi-year year strategic roadmap for products, markets, and ability to maximize the organization's profit margins.

Provides periodic updates of the overall market conditions, i.e., M&A activity, Interest rate environment, client evolution of requirements, etc. enabling the business to proactively adjust our strategy and economic forecasts appropriately. Leads and participates in planning meetings and provide advice and guidance on direction of products. Collaborates with other stakeholders such as product, marketing, sales, operations, risk and control with the ongoing enhancement of our product offering.

Creates user stories for current and future products based on the market's problems. Conducts periodic client / industry /market research to identify user needs to drive enhanced quality, functionality and potentially new products. Develops objective client scorecards covering overall service quality, product functionality, ease of doing business, etc., enabling the business to utilize feedback towards the enhancement of our product offering.

Develops objective metrics to assess the success of products, features, service levels that aids in the determination of any necessary enhancements. Pushes the boundaries of advanced technology in analytics, customers sourcing, product security, profit margins, and revolutionary product service and delivery.

Develops and fosters a philosophy to attract and retain top industry talent. Works in conjunction with Western Alliance Bank's marketing team to develop effective marketing and industry materials.

10+ years of proven success in product creation / development / architecture in the escrow and payment servicing industry.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Computer Information Systems, Finance, Business Administration, or similar program.

Ability to gain an in-depth and strong understanding of market dynamics and customer requirements.

Must be highly organized, self-starter, detailed oriented and a productive time manager.

Project management experience in the financial services industry strongly preferred.

Possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to convey results in a summarily and persuasive manner all levels of the organization.

Ability to work on a collaborative team or independently on deliverables leveraging methodologies, best practices, and collective knowledge of the business

Fluency in the use of all MS Office applications.

This role will provide leadership, architecture, and administrative functions in order to define requirements and create Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solutions. Identify and realize opportunities in the acquisition, storage, analysis, and visualization of telemetry data. Integrate telemetry data into line of business systems to streamline and improve decision support platforms. Maintain support of existing architecture including break/fix, upgrades, and platform changes. * Maintain a working knowledge of all systems and processes that support the acquisition, storage, analysis, and visualization of telemetry data * Work closely with the MIS Solution Architects to understand the tactical and strategic plans in order to implement and configure solutions that support the business process and larger organizational strategy * Work closely with business areas to maintain a mapping of telemetry data to a Global Standardized Asset Model and leverage that model to integrate telemetry data into line of business and centralized data analysis platforms * Administration and support of existing IIoT infrastructure to include break/fix, upgrades, and platform changes * Stay current on new business processes and technologies that may affect business-facing services, platform architecture, and service delivery strategies * Provide thought leadership in IIoT * Analyze potential business problems and determine MIS, Process Technology and business process portions of proposed solution; manage appropriate action based on proposed solutions * Interface with other technology development and process control staff for project and system support * Perform other duties as required Minimum Qualifications * Bachelor's degree and eight (8) years of experience in Information Services, Process Technology field including five (5) years of IIoT work experience Qualifications Preferred * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Management Information Systems or other technical area * Eight (8) years of IIoT work experience * Experience in requirements development, requirements analysis, and maintenance management Criteria/Conditions * Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English * Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards * Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment * Position is in busy, non-smoking office located in downtown Phoenix, AZ * Location requires mobility in an office environment; each floor is accessible by elevator * Occasionally work will be performed in a mine, outdoor or manufacturing plant setting * Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk * Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 10 pounds * Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required * Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol-free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as allowed by applicable State laws Freeport-McMoRan has reviewed the jobs at its various office and operating sites and determined that many of these jobs require employees to perform essential job functions that pose a direct threat to the safety or health of the employees performing these tasks or others.
