Position Overview

At PNC, our people are our greatest differentiator and competitive advantage in the markets we serve. We are all united in delivering the best experience for our customers. We work together each day to foster an inclusive workplace culture where all of our employees feel respected, valued and have an opportunity to contribute to the company's success. As a Business Architect Sr within PNC's Retail MIS Technology Architect and Strategy organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh PA, Strongsville OH, Philadelphia PA, Columbus OH, or other locations within PNC's footprint.

PNC is seeking a Strategy Architect for the Retail Business Architecture team. This senior-level position is responsible for interacting with business leaders, SMEs, and solution architecture teams as you bridge the gap of current state business needs with the future state objectives culminating in a strategy that will enable PNC to realize our goals.

One, of many key differentiators, of this position is that this is not an "architecture delivery" responsible for targeted solution architecture needs. You will define strategy with-in, and across, value streams providing sound, objective, guidance with a stable runway of 2-4 years of foresight. Artifacts are consumed by both business areas and solution architecture as their guiding principles. This position is highly visible, and highly influential, demanding resources to be conscientious and exceedingly deliberate.

Your role requires proven thought leadership, networking skills, interpersonal communication, political & emotional intelligence, written communication, and the ability anticipate the future.

Job Responsibilities

  • Creation of business architecture strategy

  • Creation of artifacts including overall strategy, component architecture

diagrams, capability mappings, etc

  • Internal presentation of strategy in public forums

  • Direct interaction with Business Executives and IT Leadership to build

alignment

Measurement of Success

  • Success is not measured by immediate, short-term, implementation of

strategy as your responsibility is to provide "runway" for future projects.

  • Success for this position is evaluated based upon delivery of strategies in the

defined timeframe, completeness of strategy as a factor of alignment to

business objectives, ability to influence and gain consensus, relationship

building across the business, quality of artifacts, delivery and execution of

education opportunities internally, transition of strategy to solution

architecture teams, and ability to perform as a consistent and valued

teammate.

About You

  • You are a clear, and concise, communicator

  • You are a highly skilled "story-teller"

  • You are able to graciously influence, and are open to being influenced

  • You are ruthlessly objective considering multiple viewpoints and identifying

new perspectives

  • You are a team player willing to support your peers

  • You are comfortable and confident in your abilities to communicate with

leadership and technical teams equally

  • You are comfortable managing concurrent efforts of high visibility and

delivering based on a timeline

  • You are willing to be challenged and grow

  • You are a consensus builder

  • You can take the role of lead, or supporter, as needed

  • Past experience with artificial intelligence, data science, and insights is

preferred
