The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Business Applications Analyst Senior

  • Deposit Operations.

This position can be based in our San Antonio, TX; Plano, TX; Colorado Springs, CO; Phoenix, AZ; Chesapeake, VA; Charlotte, NC or Tampa, FL offices. We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you'll do:

The Business Application Analyst Sr will support Deposit Products. This individual will provide system support by bridging the gap between business and IT through research and production support for Fidelity Applications for Checking, Savings and CD products. Clearly and accurately documents processes, procedures, controls, and/or design templates for any projects or initiatives assigned. Supports and delivers critical updates to product and deposit servicing capabilities and supports modernizing of banking platforms and business rules engines. Identifies opportunities to streamline, automate and improve process execution. Implements solutions to strengthen risk mitigation and position the team for the future.

Provides analysis and business information related to specific business functions, processes, and applications/IT platforms. Works at a developing skill-level to build, implement and maintain application solutions to meet the needs of a business or organization.

Provides complex analytical, business, and technical support related to strategic business functions, process, and applications/IT platforms. Leads and participates in efforts supporting business analysis and decision making processes including creating, implementing and maintaining application solutions to meet the needs of a business or organization. Proposes changes to business processes to better align to business need.

  • Advises and provides analytical support and recommendations to stakeholders making decisions related to business and application/IT platform direction and modifications, taking into account current and future business needs and opportunities.

  • Maintains advanced understanding of business processes, applications/IT platform and strategic direction and advises customers on and facilitates the identification, research, and analysis of application/IT platform and technology solutions.

  • Collaborates and exchanges information with team members, stakeholders, and information services to ensure dependencies, risks, and opportunities are identified and addressed.

  • Researches complex business issues requiring advanced knowledge of business principles and theories.

  • Responsible for analyzing and participates in documenting business requirements for application/IT platform and data systems and directing the testing and implementation of new systems or changes to current system as required to meet contractual needs and improve processes.

  • Leads and participates in the design and administration of standards and policies regarding application/IT platform and end user customer documentation.

  • Provides input and participates in establishing system documentation standards and quality assurance methodologies for systems and applications/IT platform.

  • Provides work direction and coaching to team members and may provide input on performance and development plans.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree (10 years of experience in lieu of a degree).

  • 6 years of work experience in analyzing IT business processes, software application/IT platform design and/or IT documentation, with an understanding of application/IT platform data systems and operations processes.

  • Demonstrated understanding of application/IT platform administration and the software development life cycle, to include testing execution.

  • Experience in developing and maintaining documentation related to workflow and business requirements, as well as technical functionality of IT applications/IT platform.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.

  • Knowledge of risk & controls with experience identifying and fixing gaps, documenting controls and testing of those controls.

  • Successful completion of an analyst assessment may be required.

What sets you apart:

  • 2+ Years strong business acumen in financial services or related industry with experience in a high volume Core Banking transaction processing production team.
  • 2+ Years experience working with Fidelity (FIS) Systematics Applications
  • Advance Loan Systems (ALS), IMPACS (IM), Relationship Manager (RM), Savings Time (ST), General Architecture (GN), or Certification Tracking (HX) and/or experience with research and production support for banking systems.
  • Strategic, analytical, and data driven mentality and capacity to develop data analysis skills using queries in SQL or other business intelligence and analysis software applications.

  • Knowledge of federal laws, rules, and regulations to include: UDAAP/UDAP, Regulation CC, Regulation E (EFTA), TILA/REG Z, Regulation B (ECOA).

  • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner.

What we offer:

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $89,990-$172,000.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
