Position Description

The SC Honors College is seeking a positive and energetic person with excellent communication and organizational skills to join our team. Under the supervision of the Director of Business and Human Resources, this position will support business and human resource related activities for the Honors College.

As a staff member in the Honors College you will be part of a dynamic, driven and passionate community dedicated to serving high achieving students. We are invested in learning, in and out of the classroom, which is why we're ranked consistently as one of the top honors colleges in the country.

Duties may include initiating requests for reimbursement and travel, providing follow-up for financial actions for students, staff, faculty and in support of our development office; coordinating student travel and initiating actions for study away and other actions in support of student awards. Human resources support may include utilizing the USC job hiring systems to hire Adjunct faculty each semester and temporary staff once a year. Assists by placing ads on the USC job site, managing offer and acceptance letters, and onboarding activities. For staff searches, manages the itineraries and scheduling process for candidates. Supports other business and human resource activities of the dean's office as needed.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of work experience that is directly related to the area of employment, or high school diploma and 6 years work experience that is directly related to the area of employment; or equivalency.

Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Thorough knowledge of general accounting practices and principals. Knowledge of state and university financial and human resource processes, laws, rules and regulations. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and related software programs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines and priorities. Ability to work independently and with confidentiality.
