As the Business and Financial Analyst you will analyze financial and operational results to identify areas of opportunity for profit maximization as well as reporting to Sr. Management and franchise ownership. You will focus on all areas of the Distribution Department (Reservations) and will run detailed reports to retrieve specific information. A basic understanding of finance concepts is essential to comprehend detail and quickly identify outlying information. Closely coordinating with accounting and operations personnel is an important element of success in this position.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain and develop accurate and timely financial and operational reports on all business activities.
Produce and distribute monthly reports to include Labor Analysis, Channel Production, and Distribution Cost Analysis; as well as produce reports used to bill hotels for fees related to distribution channels and calls.
Analyze and communicate complex financial information to individuals at all levels of the organization.
Prepare comprehensive insightful, numerical and graphical analyses of comparative results on a monthly, quarterly and year-to-date basis.
Assist in the coordination of the annual budget process.
Provide insight into business trends and root causes and anticipate issues and needed adjustments, to avoid reactionary behavior.
Generate and review large quantities of data using internal and external computer systems.
Monitor financial performance levels and influence senior management on operational decisions by creating corrective action plans.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business-related fields or equivalent work experience required.
Minimum 2 years experience in finance/business or related field.
Analytical ability is required with a keen attention to detail.
Must have excellent presentation skills and verbal/written communication skills.
Must be self-motivated and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a timely manner.
Must be proficient in the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) with a strong emphasis on Excel
Experience with using Power BI and/or writing SQL queries preferred.
