About This Role:
The Business Intelligence Data Developer operates as a member of the Business Intelligence (BI) Team. Supports the entire Credit Union's reporting and operational data requests. The successful candidate will take ownership of building reports and dashboards through the Credit Union's Business Intelligence tools, have a strong understanding of the data, and a high level of understanding of the Credit Union's needs to be able to provide information for decision making at all levels.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Work closely with business owners to gather and define requirements; exploring the reasons behind reporting requests to improve processes and increase efficiencies
Develop reports and dashboards using the Credit Union's BI Tools
Help in the development of logical and physical models for the BI Tool
Analyze OLAP and OLTP data to provide data analysis
Develop SQL Queries for reports and dashboards
Create stored procedures, views, and tables to be used for reporting
Work closely with other team members to develop standards, promote efficiency, and prioritize the work load
Create documentation around processes and procedures and participate in code reviews
Help with configuration and administration of BI Tools
Apply industry standards best practices to development activities
Work in an agile environment (methodology)
Work with data team to ensure solutions are successfully executed, within agreed upon SLAs.
Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or related field
1-3 years of relevant experience
Experience writing SQL, preferably in SQL Server or Hive (Hadoop)
Experience with a BI analysis and reporting tools, preferably IBM Cognos Analytics or Tableau
Exceptional analytical, problem solving, and time management skills required Strong attention to detail
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and expert level understanding of Excel
Proficient quantitative and qualitative analysis skills
Ability to handle multiple projects with tight deadlines and adaptable to changing priorities
Ability to work both independently and within a team environment, to build good working relationships and effectively manage multiple tasks
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written
Knowledge of database systems, data analytic techniques and financial systems a plus
Experience with Hadoop Ecosystem, Python, R, and Pentaho a plus
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. This role also requires the ability to stand/sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to life 35 pounds.
