Citi IA is a global function with approximately 1,800 staff based in 60 plus countries. The IA function provides independent assessments of the company's governance, risk management and internal control environment for key stakeholders including the Board of Directors, senior management and Citi's numerous regulators globally. IA is a change agent within Citi aimed to enhance the control culture of Citigroup worldwide and thereby support senior management decision making around the globe.

Job Purpose:

This role will sit within the Global MI & Data Analytics team in IA and be responsible for leading the development and provision of data analysis and insight-driven reporting to the IA function and business stakeholders across Citi. Specifically, the role holder will lead Global, Group-wide reporting initiatives, including reporting to the Citigroup Audit Committee and senior internal and external stakeholders; and supporting function-wide MI projects, supporting the Citi Chief Auditor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Citigroup & Citibank Audit Committee (AC) Reporting
  • Quarterly:
    1.IA Operational Activity Report: Own and lead report production, to include updates in relation to IA's assurance plan delivery; financials and resource management; IA's strategic plan; and regulatory issues in respect of IA. Responsibilities including liaising with the wider IA Operations team to communicate timelines and requirements and consolidate input.
    2.Control Environment & Audit Activity Report: Preparation of the Citigroup and Citibank Audit Activity and Key Control Environment Performance Metrics updates for the AC.
  • Citibank Audit Working Group (AWG) and North America (NAM) AWG Reporting
  • Quarterly: End-to-end report ownership, to include both quantitative and qualitative data analysis. This includes the summarization of key items for attention and key themes to include in the Executive Summary for the Citibank and NAM Chief Auditor (CA) to discuss in the AWG meetings.

Responsibilities in the preparation of the above AC and AWG reports include reviewing, quality checking and succinctly summarizing and consolidating input from IA, to create and finalize the AC report. This includes liaising with senior IA management, including IA's Executive Management Team (EMT), to confirm assessments and analysis are appropriate and ensuring accurate and consistent reporting.

  • Control Environment Reports
  • Monthly: Provision of the 'Key Messages' within the monthly reports, which provide an update to senior Citi stakeholders (including the Group Executive Committee) in relation to IA's Audit Activity and key Control Environment Performance Metrics/Assessments.
  • Adhoc Reporting: Supporting the provision of adhoc data analytics and reports for both internal (e.g. Citigroup CA, Citibank CA, QA CA, and COO) and external stakeholders (Group Executive Committee, Regulators).

  • Key MI Contact: Acting as a key contact for Chief Auditors (CAs), Heads of Audit (HoAs), Chief Audit Executives (CAEs) and the wider IA function in relation to their MI roles and responsibilities, and MI questions.

  • IA Initiatives: Proactively manage and support IA initiatives as they relate to data analytics and MIS.

  • Continuous Enhancement: Continuous enhancement and streamlining of MI report content/format, and production processes, to generate efficiencies and address CA and regulatory requirements.

  • MI Education: Educating CAs, Heads of Audit (HoAs), Chief Audit Executives (CAEs), and the wider IA function in relation to on the end-to-end process and their roles and responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent combination of education/experience;

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Prior experience in the financial services industry or Internal Audit.

  • Experience in delivering time sensitive, accurate data analytics and reporting to a variety of senior internal and external stakeholders.

  • Experienced in the direct production of high quality 'Board level' reporting, including focused analysis, trending, and strong summarisation of results.

  • Experience working with senior management in the definition of and delivery of reporting.

  • Strong understanding and experience in the provision of MIS and related best practices for the provision of high quality MIS.

  • Experience working in a Global team, liaising with individuals across a number of time zones.

Skills:

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative skills to identify key items for inclusion in board level and senior management reporting. Ability to analyse and succinctly summarize content, and ensure consistent messaging.

  • Strong coordination and project management skills, to lead the end-to-end AC reporting processes and production of Senior Management and Board level reporting.

  • High proficiency across the MS Office suite, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • High proficiency in SharePoint.

  • Additional technical skills which are advantageous but not essential: SQL and VBA knowledge.

  • Experience in using mainstream Business Intelligence tools would be an advantage (for example: MicroStrategy, Qlikview, Tableau).

Competencies:

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate across the function on data. validation and MI reporting deliverables.

  • Ability to work under pressure, and deliver timely, accurate, insightful analysis.

  • Ability to conceptualize the business requirement and deliver innovative solutions.

Flexibility to change and ability to prioritize workload with competing deliverables.
