Our Team's Mission and Vision
Welcome to the Cost Transparency Support team!
Our team may be new, but our mission to support the Affordability objectives of Cigna is not. We're born from a government mandate that all hospitals and health plan begin publishing rates for certain medical services.
We're here to ensure we and others accurately interpret our published rates and make meaningful use of the information made public about our competitors to achieve best-in-class rates for our members. Our work is grounded in the belief that the more we know, the more effective we can be in transforming the complex web of healthcare.
We support Cigna's Affordability objectives by ensuring the data and intelligence we act on is current and reliable. We work in collaboration with our Network Analytics, Network Development and Intelligence teams, and others across Cigna and Evernorth to ensure we put our best foot forward to provide actionable information that is supported by a public source of information and can be deemed reliable for negotiating the best possible contracted rate for service on behalf of our members.
