Welcome to the Cost Transparency Support team!

Our team may be new, but our mission to support the Affordability objectives of Cigna is not. We're born from a government mandate that all hospitals and health plan begin publishing rates for certain medical services.

We're here to ensure we and others accurately interpret our published rates and make meaningful use of the information made public about our competitors to achieve best-in-class rates for our members. Our work is grounded in the belief that the more we know, the more effective we can be in transforming the complex web of healthcare.

We support Cigna's Affordability objectives by ensuring the data and intelligence we act on is current and reliable. We work in collaboration with our Network Analytics, Network Development and Intelligence teams, and others across Cigna and Evernorth to ensure we put our best foot forward to provide actionable information that is supported by a public source of information and can be deemed reliable for negotiating the best possible contracted rate for service on behalf of our members.

This position is with Evernorth, a new business within the Cigna Corporation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage que of questions, comments and concerns regarding cost transparency information and Cigna's published rates

  • Thoughtfully research and respond to inquiries from internal stakeholders

  • Collaboratively resolve discrepancies in interpretation of published rates and what happens in practice

  • Work with agile teams to troubleshoot and remediate root cause of data discrepancies identified between rates published and what is indicated by provider's contract

  • Define standard processes for efficiently managing the flow of information

  • Seek ways to preemptively answer commonly asked questions and improve the transparency and access to information in ways that enables a self-service approach to leveraging rate intelligence data

  • Point of authority when applying interpretation and analysis of rates

  • Work with Product Solutions team to define business requirements to generate scalable and automated solutions to enable efficient customer self-service and enable more time and effort to be applied to competitive use of data

  • Supervise accuracy of rate information procured from various sources, preemptively address discrepancies and manage an intake and response to questions concerning the accuracy of our rates and those published by competitors

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in health care/managed care work experience

  • Independently performs analysis and applies statistical models to validate / interpret results

  • Understanding of managed care business process, data, systems, and applications for claims payment, enrollment, benefit design, and utilization management

  • Familiarity with various data mining and reporting tools

  • Strong aptitude of hospital services

  • Deep familiarity with how healthcare services are reimbursed

  • Experience working with claims data and familiarity with standard medical coding: CPT, ICD9, HCPC

This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.

They will function as a bridge to the delivery teams, drive efficiencies, and provide quick turn around and quality resolution of production defects that are impacting customers. The resource will also provide an on call support for critical issues that may occur outside of regular business hours. Additionally, the candidate will provide counsel and advice to management on significant Application Development matters, often requiring coordination between organizations. They will act as a principal liaison between L2 and L3 teams for complex major systems and their subsystems utilizing a thorough understanding of available technology, tools and existing designs. The resource will research and evaluate alternative solutions and recommend the most efficient and cost effective application programming solution. They will also focus on providing thoughtful leadership and technical expertise across multiple disciplines and will be a "go-to" person for complex Production Support problems. This position is with Evernorth, a new business within the Cigna Corporation. This role is Flex which allows most work to be performed at home or on occasion at a Cigna office location. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite. Roles and Responsibilities: * Monitors and reviews incidents reported by business teams. * Facilitates bridge calls in the event of critical job failures in production. * Assigns or escalates defects to the delivery team and sees cases through completion. * Collaborates with Delivery teams to meet standard SLA for resolving production defects. * Initiates Change Management tickets as needed for reporting change orders and/or releases. * Maintains process and troubleshooting documentation to be utilized by both US-based and offshore Production Support resources. * May be assigned to special projects that drive continuous improvement of services and production support processes. * Maintain automated processes/health check scripts (i.e. soapUI, Postman) * Monitor multiple tools (e.g. soapUI, Dynatrace, Splunk) for any production issues * Work With stakeholders across various development, operations and quality teams Skills & Qualifications: * At least five years experience in a production support role. * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or higher strongly preferred. * At least two years experience of Java. * Knowledge of utilizing API clients such as soapUI or Postman to run/analyze APIs. * Above all else - great attitude, passion, collaborative, great communicator (spoken & written). * In-depth working knowledge of and best practices in the administration and use of monitoring tools (Splunk, Dynatrace) * Excellent analytic troubleshooting skills and data driven testing techniques * Self-starter that takes initiative to solve problems and learn quickly to fill knowledge gaps * Strong focus on customer/business outcomes and is focused on results * Self-motivated, quick learner and excellent customer service skills. * Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple issues and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment. * Remove obstacles and barriers to allow self to complete tasks and escalate appropriately. * Must be a current contractor with Cigna, Express Scripts, or Evernorth.
