Position Description
Saddle Creek Logistics Services is seeking a Business Analytics Intern in Lakeland, FL. This position will be part of a team aligning data across our network. This person will contribute to data governance with guidance, interface with Operations to map data across systems and across accounts, and own the project management aspect (scheduling internal interviews to discuss findings, documentation and sharing, etc.).
Responsibilities
Is or becomes knowledgeable about third-party logistics, warehouse and transportation operations
Conducts or assists with data analysis and mapping with the goal of aligning data across the network
Works in Databricks to extract and analyze data using SQL and/or Python
Follows and updates SOPs and work instructions
Identifies, schedules, and conducts meetings with business users as needed to answer questions
Documents and presents findings for review by Business Analysts
Assists with creating action plan
May create ad hoc reports and contributes to other projects as needed
May provide other support as needed to the Director, Systems and Director, Data Science & Analytics, and Business Analysts
Qualifications
Education/Experience
Must currently be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree; High School Diploma required.
Business Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering majors strongly preferred.
Logistics experience/exposure is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (if desired)
Knowledge of warehouse operations and third party logistics preferred.
Strong analytical skills with a proclivity to accuracy and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with expertise in Microsoft Excel.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret policies and contracts.
Must be able to work autonomously and as a team member.
Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills; must be able to multi-task, problem-solve, prioritize, and work under pressure.
Ability to effectively communicate (oral and written) and present information to senior management, customers, and vendors; ability to influence others.
