Duties and Responsibilities
This is a challenging leadership position within the Office of Performance Management. The position will supervise employees, lead department data analytics projects such as dashboard development, dashboard designs, and author and present external reports. The position will provide recommendations to executive and senior leadership on data management strategy, business analytics and data visualizations. This position is responsible for growing the department's data analytics program. As a member of the Office of the Executive Director, the incumbent will work closely in collaboration with department data analytics teams in the Florida Highway Patrol, Motorist Services, Information Systems Administration and Administrative Services. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a strong foundation in Tableau software, data structures, data analysis, dashboard design principles, SQL, and the ability to summarize and present on complex topics. The candidate must also have strong organizational skills and be able to effectively prioritize and complete urgent projects and requests.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of the theory, process, and value of data visualizations.
Skill in relational databases using Structured Query Language (SQL).
Skill in data analysis, research methods, theory, and statistical tests.
Skill in authoring and presenting professional analysis reports to high-level leadership within the department and to external partners.
Skill in the participation, execution, and development of data quality and process improvement initiatives.
Ability to work with and display sensitivity toward diverse groups of people.
Ability to maintain the confidentiality, security and privacy of data.
Job Related Requirements
This position is subject to a Level 2 background and Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) security clearance, to include fingerprinting as a condition of employment pursuant to Chapter 110.1127, 435 and 943, Florida Statutes. As an applicant for positions requiring CJIS security clearance, you are required to disclose criminal records that have been sealed or expunged.

This position requires an in-office presence Monday through Friday in the department's Tallahassee, Florida headquarters.
General Information
The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI's Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.
FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
