Business Analyst

Job Description:

• Serving as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs; possessing expertise in the business unit(s) they support, as well as an understanding of the IT organization's systems and capabilities.

• Analyzing business partner's operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions.

• Assisting in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology.

• Translating high level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization and manages changes to such specifications.

• Educating the IT organization on the direction of the business.

• Negotiating agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business unit(s) and IT from initial requirements to final implementation.

• Possessing an understanding of technological trends and using this knowledge to bring solutions to business units supported to enhance the enterprise's competitive edge.

• Making recommendations for buy vs. build decision.

• Utilizing an Agile SCRUM approach, working to develop and review Agile stories.

• Executing business process improvements, assisting in gathering requirements from decision-makers, and ensuring best practices in quality assurance testing.

• Representing the business process problems along with solutions for them.

• Using these toolkits to help demonstrate innovations and improvisations to business stakeholders.

• Producing business-critical requirements through observation and trial and error methods.

• Critically evaluating information gathered from multiple sources, reconciling conflicts, decomposing high-level information into details, summarizing low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguishing user requests from the underlying true needs.

• Serving as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow.

• Developing requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language.

• Making recommendations about products and features that would support positive, secure, and efficient customer experience.

• Working with other team members to help outline team roadmaps and communicating these to internal stakeholders; assisting wherever needed.

• Assisting with the business case planning, monitoring, eliciting, translating, and simplifying requirements to drive the design or review of test cases and/or process change requests

• Assisting with the project's scope, acceptance, installation, and deployment.

• Working with developers, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and other users to refine and deliver requirements in a timely manner.Assists with conducting data analysis within each business process

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or other related field/equivalent work experience.

• A minimum of three (3) years of experience of relevant technical or business work experience.

• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Rapid prototyping business flows.

• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in documenting requirements/ traceability using a holistic requirements management tool.

• A minimum of five (5) years of system documentation experience.

• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a Senior Digital Business Analyst, project management or similar role.

• Strong understanding of the problem space from the business perspective.

• Proven computer skills in Microsoft (MS) suite - Excel, MS Access, PowerPoint, Word, Project, and Visio.

• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to lead, direct, and manage.

• Strong written, verbal, and analytical communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.

• Strong analysis and documentation skills for creating end-to-end business scenarios for the development of test cases and execution.

• Strong analytical and industry relevant product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into operational requirements.

• Strong knowledge of web applications, client server applications, legacy applications, and database concepts.

• Strong project management skills including conceptualization, analysis, driving Alignment, planning resources, and managing milestones.

• Agile/SCRUM experience specifically in story/acceptance criteria development.

• Knowledge of the interdependencies of key business processes, functions, and risks.

• Ability to quickly course correct, re-prioritize, and elicit new information based on what was learned from customer feedback.

• Experience with TFS to plan and organize tasks, workflows, and reports for the Agile Team members.

• Experience with data analysis and/or data engineering.

• Extensive knowledge of the business domain, processes, and flow of the projects they are working on.

• Strong technical knowledge and understanding of the business requirements.
