Job Summary:

Acts as a partner with the business to facilitate and implement technology solutions. Responsible for writing system requirements that will ensure the technology solution will meet the needs of the business. Leverages appropriate technical resources. Requires a good level understanding of systems, industry and end-user requirements. Applies specialized domain knowledge in monitoring, assessing, analyzing and/or evaluating processes and data. Makes judgements and recommendations based on analysis and knowledge. This position will focus on Compliance and Supervision technology.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Creates detailed business requirements for functional (e.g., business processes, rules) and non-functional (e.g., data, security) capabilities.

  • Validates test cases to ensure that scripts will evaluate the business function being performed.

  • Gathers and interprets information from multiple sources (including databases, interviews, etc.) and makes recommendations.

  • Provides support for application development teams including documenting business processes.

  • Translates technical concepts to business audience and business information to a technical audience.

  • Participates in developing estimates and implementation plans for technical solutions.

  • Partners with team members to develop project schedules, reports and documentation.

  • Works with User Experience / Design resources to help visualize requirements into prototype.

  • Understands and applies principles in risk management, issue tracking and change management.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business or related degree and three (3) years of relevant experience or a combination of education, training and experience.

  • May occasionally work a non-standard shift including nights and/or weekends and/or have on-call responsibilities.

  • May work in a team environment or project room to facilitate collaboration.

  • Knowledge of risk management, issue tracking, change management and requirements gathering.

  • Compliance and Supervision experience is nice to have.

  • Intermediate to advanced level knowledge of the following:

  • SQL queries, SQL Server and/or Oracle databases

  • Visio, MS Project, familiarity with source code repositories (Git, TFS)

  • Agile / Waterfall methodologies

Licenses/Certifications:

  • None required.

Reviews functional requirements and uses business and technical knowledge to analyze and develop software test plans and test cases. Identifies, gathers and manages appropriate test data and executes against test scripts. Performs testing for application development projects and where appropriate, technology infrastructure projects. Deliverables ensure sufficient test coverage and risk mitigation. Works closely with business users to determine priorities and facilitate decisions regarding quality. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Leads and participates in functional software testing for software development efforts of all sizes and complexity utilizing various development platforms. * Uses industry knowledge, business systems knowledge and previous testing experience to independently execute testing against both proprietary and third party applications to identify differences between the business user requirements and the system being tested. Documents, reproduces and retests defects. * Monitors testing progress, provides status reports and escalates issues as needed regarding testing efforts. * Uses technical knowledge of HP Non-Stop and Windows DBMS (Database Management Systems) to design SQL queries and extract data needed for testing, and identify and/or create test data for manual and automated testing as necessary to fulfill specific scenarios. * Uses software quality principals to review and analyze functional requirements, architectural overviews and other proposed system specifications to ensure requirements are complete, accurate and testable. Documents traceability of test cases to requirements. * Develops test plans, writes manual and automated tests and ensures sufficient test coverage to mitigate risk to IT and to the firm. * Identifies and defines test environment requirements. * Participates in or leads risk assessment and test strategy design. * Formally and informally provides guidance, technical training and mentoring to less experienced Software Quality Management associates on Software Engineering principals, application specific functionality, tool usage, business interaction and good practices. * Conducts and/or participates in peer reviews of test plans and cases to ensure consistency, adequate coverage and risk mitigation. * Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
