About this Job:

  • Partner in business analysis efforts to deliver R&D information capabilities through IT projects and other delivery mechanisms working closely with Key Users, Project Managers, Solution Architects, and Development teams.

  • Provide best practice in business value delivery strategies, requirements gathering techniques, and user acceptance techniques to various groups in R&D

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a conduit between R&D end user community and the software development team

  • Collaborates with the Solution Architects, Application Development, and Software Quality Assurance Teams to understand scope, solutions, constraints, and risks

  • Business Analysis & Requirements Definition: Analyze business operations to determine opportunities to automate business processes and functions; Define and document project objectives and business requirements to be translated into functional specifications for systems development and new technology

  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details and abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding to discern user needs and key requirements. When appropriate challenge back to R&D team.

  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with R&D to analyze information and business workflow to deliver functional requirements, use cases, user stories, and user interface designs

  • Work with Delivery Team Lead in understanding business priorities and strategy, and influence investment portfolio within the team

Education & Experience:

  • 5 7 years of IT Business Analysis or closely related experience

  • 2 years' experience in an analyst role for multiple projects using agile software development methodologies is a must.

  • Demonstrates ability to work in a geographically and culturally diverse team environment

  • Demonstrates exceptional writing, presentation, and facilitation skills with a cross-functional business audience

  • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrates strong communication, leadership and negotiation skills

  • Ability to communicate complex issues in a non-technical manner to a diverse audience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Biology, Bioinformatics, Plant Breeding or a related field

Additional Knowledge, Skills, Traits & Abilities:

  • R&D science-related experience, preferably in the areas of Trialing, Plant Breeding, Genetics, Genomics, Bioinformatics, or data science

  • IIBA Business Analysis Certification

  • Stakeholder experience a plus

With this background, the Business Systems Analyst helps establish functional system analyses, policy support and enforcement criteria, and sets priorities related to the programs, including stakeholder priorities and requests. Some duties/responsibilities are as follows: * Lead and/or participate in requirement gathering sessions * Develop requirements, system review and test, functional design, develop process flows * Review training materials and user guides * Process engineering for phases of the software development lifecycle.
