Job Description Summary

The Business Analyst will serve as the functional expert in PeopleSoft Campus Solutions for all Student Financials-related processes, supporting Treasury Operations, Office of Student Account Services and External Departments. This position will analyze business processes, gather functional requirements and perform testing to ensure the functionality meets specifications and participate in short and long-range planning for current and future PeopleSoft Campus Solutions needs.

General Description (Purpose and Function):

The Business Analyst will serve as the functional expert in PeopleSoft Campus Solutions for all Student Financials-related processes, supporting Treasury Operations, Office of Student Account Services and External Departments. This position will analyze business processes, gather functional requirements and perform testing to ensure the functionality meets specifications and participate in short and long-range planning for current and future PeopleSoft Campus Solutions needs.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partners with end users to gather all requirements to formulate specifications and translates those into business functionality.

  • Performs analysis and documents workflows and results.

  • Assists the technical team in translating business requirements into application functionality.

  • Configures the system to meet the business requirements of the enterprise.

  • Recommends, defines, and tests security roles for end users.

  • Conducts training sessions to implement new or improved systems and procedures.

  • Primary liaison to the business unit personnel for departments at the University.

  • Plan, design, develop, launch and support efficient business, financial, and operations systems in support of the PeopleSoft Enterprise Financial System.

  • Works closely with the Student Life Cycle team members, System Administrators, Developers, Database Administrators, and business personnel to resolve and troubleshoot technical issues.

  • Manage relationships with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operations requirements and align with optimal system functionality.

  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.

  • Develop reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in production systems.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of Campus Solutions 9.0 systems capabilities.

  • Ability to communicate ideas and problem solutions.

  • Ability to effectively work with people in other departments and/or outside of the enterprise.

  • Must be self-motivated.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) required.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering or Business Information Systems. Other fields will be considered.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum two years experience in working with business analysts in maintenance and modification of applications.

  • Experience that demonstrates initiative and motivation, self-direction and adherence to deadlines.

  • Exercises delegated authority to make independent decisions and assume responsibility for analysis and decision that impact people, costs, and/or quality of service.

  • Recommends and participates in decisions/actions involving University policy and procedures with management.

POSITION SUMMARY This role is responsible for developing, driving and delivering process improvement initiatives in support of the expansion of the usage for products & services within GCCS Global Customer Assistance Services. This role serves as a liaison for cross-functional initiatives to identify trends, enhance existing services, drive efficiencies, and to support the launch of new products when necessary. This role must be highly proficient in data analisys and have experience in big data tools and methodology as well as enterprise report creation maintence. JOB SCOPE: * Analyze and interpret requests for report development based on provided business requirements * Liaise with technology and project management teams to implement database and reporting analytics tools * Ensure adherence of the naming conventions and organization for new reports and procedures * Provide training to key stakeholders on the use and navigation of reporting platforms and dashboard tools * Maintain collaborative business relationships with all stakeholders * Maintain request for changes to existing reports using established change management procedures * Leverage best in class processes to ensure efficient and time relevant distribution of management reports * Leverage technology to automate data extraction, transformation and load processes * Maintain and continually improve the GCAS billing process. * Mentor and assist Associate Analysts in best practices, technology platforms and database concepts * Analyze metrics and trends and identify process improvement opportunities as well as define targets for client relationship deepening. * Preparing GCAS presentations for both internal and external steak holder * Manage GCAS dashboards * Identify and implement – in coordination with the appropriate parties – opportunities to improve the overall strategy within the call center. These opportunities may include changes to existing processes, presenting insights and/or the addition of enhanced elements in the GCCS service offering. Required skills * Bachelor Degree in Management Information Systems or Computer Science Preferred * 5+ years of experience in an enterprise reporting environment * Must possess excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
