As part of a cross-functional team including business analysts, a product manager, and academic leaders, this business analyst will work to develop leading edge products that help students select their programs of study, plan their academic careers, and make the most of their transfer credits. To devise new solutions, business analysts interview users and leaders to determine requirements, work with software engineers to formalize specifications, design and implement quality assurance procedures, and advocate for users as they track projects to completion. For existing processes and technologies, business analysts support end users through on-boarding, training, troubleshooting, and managing enhancements to meet users' changing needs. This senior business analyst will also share from their experience and expertise as they mentor business analysts within the Student Success Innovations team.
To be successful in this role, the incumbent will combine knowledge of curriculum and/or student information systems with experience performing business analysis, data analysis, quality assurance, project management, or similar roles.

Working Environment
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting.
Activities include evaluating information and interfaces that are primarily visual using computer workstations and mobile devices.
Required to travel moderate distances on campus and between campuses to perform work.
Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
Regular activities require the ability to quickly change priorities, which may include resolution of conflicts.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND six (6) years of experience in procedural, management or systems analysis work; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training, and/ or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Essential Duties
Defines scope and objectives of technology and process changes and collaborates with software engineers to devise solutions that meet business needs.
Facilitates decision-making by communicating across project teams and functional areas
Consults with front-line staff, managers and leaders to understand business needs for new processes or process improvements; conducts requirements gathering and solution design to meet those needs
Elicits requirements using interviews, requirements meetings, surveys, document analysis, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, and workflow analysis.
Serves as the conduit between a customer community and the development team.
Assesses the effectiveness of solutions as they are implemented and recommends/implements improvements as necessary.
Translates high-level technical offerings into functional-level features for non-technical audiences; presents materials and processes in a format appropriate to the audience.
Defines, develops, and implements quality assurance practices and procedures, end-user test plans, and other QA assessments. Ensures software quality meets users' needs.
Mentors business analysts and contributes to the development of standards and shared processes for the business analysis team.
Writes business process documentation and training documents to support end users and the development team.
Consults with subject matter experts to coordinate security design and devise appropriate user roles
May query and analyze data to create documentation and make recommendations for data preservation, integration and governance protocols
