SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the VP of Continuous Improvement & Project Management, the Business Analyst is tasked with prioritizing business and functional requirements, identifying what business units want, and working with key stakeholders and shared services (e.g., Information Technology, Risk Management, etc.) to determine what is feasible to deliver.
They are the bridge between business problems and the technological solutions that can resolve them. The business analyst is a key member of the organization by helping the credit union address business and technical solutions; leveraging strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as utilizing excellent written and verbal communication skills. They should also be able to exercise independent judgment and act on it.
The Business Analyst is to support senior business analysts and project teams in tasks such as gathering and documenting requirements, conducting data analysis, assisting in the identification of business solutions, and helping with project documentation and communication. This will include developing business requirements documents (BRDs), business process maps, high-level solution design, and user acceptance test (UAT) planning. This will be accomplished using proven tools and methodology in partnership with internal business units, external vendors, project leaders, and our technology teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Evaluate current business processes and identify potential areas for improvement; gather and analyze data, conduct market research, and work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs. Helps with implementing new systems or processes, ensuring they meet the organization's requirements; provide ongoing support and training to stakeholders on new processes and systems when needed.
Conducts meetings and presentations to share status, ideas, and findings; gather critical information from various stakeholders and produce useful minutes and/or reports. Participates in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize operations and performance, developing and leveraging process maps when necessary. Collaborates with technology, business subject matter experts (SME), change agents, vendors, and test leads to assist during the UAT phase.

Proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint), business process modeling; and some familiarity with issues/project management applications such as Atlassian Jira, etc. A minimum of two (2) years of experience within a financial institution and/or a bachelor's degree from an accredited university is preferred, but not required. This role is unique in that an individual can become a business analyst from multiple paths, even with no direct business analyst job experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to author reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and internal customers. REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) preferred.
PMP or equivalent designation will be obtained within two (2) years from date of hire if certification not already held. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: SharePoint Office 360 Content Management skills preferred and/or willingness to be trained.
