Amazon's North American Surface Transportation Safety and Compliance team (NA ST S&C) is seeking a motivated leader with exceptional communication and project management skills to drive large scale projects, programs and technical initiatives within the Amazon Freight Partner (AFP) program.

This is an exciting space that is in the heart of North American Surface Transportation Safety & Compliance within Middle Mile. The team is comprised of subject matter experts who leverage safety data and information to continually raise the bar on transportation services at Amazon. Because we strive for faster results and continuous safety improvements, you must be passionate about identifying and prioritizing the most impactful efforts that raise the bar for safety.

As a Business Analyst, you will serve as the subject matter expert on presenting data in an informative and actionable way and in a way that facilitates productive, cross-functional dialogue. Your detailed analysis will inform decisions on investments, routings, opportunities and performance. You will collaborate with our centralized Business Intelligence and Data Engineering team to leverage existing, and creating access to newer data needed to inform business decisions. You will build analytical models, size opportunities, prioritize for ROI, implement techniques to process large data sets, apply statistical testing methods, address quantitative problems, build dashboards that enable leaders to better understand their business data, assess functional business performance, and develop targeted, scalable action plans. As an experienced data expert, you will be responsible for supporting as well as coaching team peers who lead functional strategies. You will be responsible for designing and implementing tangible insights, business metrics, measurement systems that guide operations, projects, and programs roadmaps. You will have an opportunity to publish findings, updates, and data driven recommendations to Senior Leadership.

Major responsibilities:

  • Be the SME leading design and execution of business analytics

  • Build data visualization reports and tools for self-service consumption of data

  • Analyze and extract relevant information from large amounts of both structured and unstructured data to help automate and optimize key processes

  • Define the business problem and solution approach autonomously, to size and prioritize business growth opportunities for maximizing return on effort, and reduce lead-times from concept to launch

  • Analyze and validate data to ensure high data quality and reliable insights

  • Partner with data engineering teams to improve data assets, quality, metrics and insights

  • Proactively identify opportunity areas for deep dive investigations and future program development

  • As the primary data and analysis expert supporting a team of 12, create intake and prioritization process to balance fast-turnaround business needs, with regular processes and longer time frame strategic projects.

  • Write concise documents communicating results to stakeholders and visualize data to drive decision making

This role can sit in Bellevue, WA or Nashville, TN

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, STEM, Operations, Finance, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in a business analyst, data analyst, or statistical analysis role
  • 3+ years of experience working within a business intelligence function, with analytical and modelling experience
  • 3+ years of experience with Excel, Access, SQL, Python, Perl or other scripting languages
  • 3+ years of experience with Tableau, AWS QuickSight, Power BI, or other data visualizations software

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's Degree, or other related advanced degree

  • Experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, eCommere, Retail

  • Ability to apply statistical techniques and facilitate market research (i.e. hypothesis testing, control groups, benchmarking studies)

  • 5+ years of experience working in web analytics - e.g. funnel progression, visitor behavior, conversion analysis, marketing campaign optimization, click-through rates

  • 5+ years of experience owning creation and regular circulation of business reports

  • High level of competence & skill set in variety of business analysis, e.g. trend analysis, segmentation analysis, cost-benefit analysis, scenario analysis, CLTV analysis, financial analysis, survey analysis, ROI analysis, opportunity sizing, conjoint analysis, sales forecasting, and the like.

  • Abilities in adept structuring and presentation, project management, and business process improvement

We're looking for a Regulatory Intelligence Product Safety & Compliance Manager to focus on safety, compliance policy and strategy while leading cross-functional business and development teams. The PSC Manager will develop compliance initiatives by developing high level processes and innovative scalable solutions, while maintaining high standards for worldwide compliance. Key job responsibilities * Identify, scope, communicate upcoming global regulatory requirements and provide early notice of potential changes to requirements * Build compliance policy frameworks for a variety across private brands product types and geographies * Manage and resolve competing perspectives of stakeholders to drive conformity * Provide guidance to business and legal teams on product safety and compliance complexities * Develop relationships with relevant industry bodies to obtain insights and help shape the regulatory landscape About the team The Private Brands Product Safety and Compliance team protects customers and Amazon brands through the development, and lifecycle management, of safe and compliant products. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS * 5 + years of experience with product safety / environmental compliance regulations. * Experience with regulatory requirements such as: REACH, RoHS, Prop 65, Toy Safety, CE Marking Directive, Circular Economy etc. * Experience implementing processes to comply with regulatory requirements * Experience in project management; experience monitoring and measuring results * Experience creating sustainable and scalable processes * Experience working in a multi-national company within an international team * Experience using understanding of compliance and regulatory affairs to document and communicate product requirements across all levels of the organization * Experience using knowledge of product development process and product lifecycle management * Experience using understanding of laboratories and test reports, including hand-on experience working with certification agencies PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * 7+ years' experience managing Safety and Compliance in a large scale retail or manufacturing environment or Regulatory Intelligence * Bachelor's Degree * Master's Degree * Direct experience engaging with regulatory authorities, associations, or standards bodies * Knowledge of NA and/or EMEA and/or APAC regulatory requirements * Previous experience with Environmental Compliance regulations * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Curiosity to develop knowledge of additional product categories as needed * Analytical thinker and program management mindset Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
