We are a team of creative individuals reimagining how to solve inefficiencies in the live ticketing industry and we are looking to hire a Business Analyst to join us in our pursuit of solving problems with innovative solutions.

Who you are:

Qcue is looking for a Business Analyst who is experienced in agile software development practices and is fluent in the full life cycle of product development to support our product development process. You will work across a team of product managers, data scientists, and software engineers all working on our mission to solve inefficiencies in the live event ticketing industry. You have worked as a business analyst and excel at collaboration and communication. You take the lead in making sure our engineers have what they need to execute successfully. Our business analyst will be in the weeds working across all our teams to understand what is required to execute on our product features and designs. If you are meticulous at paying attention to details, including technical dependencies, user needs, acceptance criteria and ensuring what is being developed is solving the right problems the right way, we want to hear from you.

What youll do:

You will work on a product team that creates ambitious solutions in a fast-paced, competitive industry with no shortage of interesting problems to solve. To get there, you will:

  • Work across the entire software delivery life cycle, from research and problem definition to QA and release communication
  • Reproduce bugs and perform manual QA on new features
  • Advocate for internal product users by understanding their needs and pain points to diagnose their underlying problems
  • Write user stories and detailed acceptance criteria
  • Research and document technical third party dependencies
  • Analyze data to validate problems and solutions
  • Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders from our development and data science teams to our CEO
  • Support prioritization based on your superior knowledge of the finer details
  • Work in an agile environment

Bonus points for:

  • Experience working with databases, SQL, and APIs
  • Experience with technical QA
  • A desire to grow your technical and product management skills

Requirements

  • 1-3 years business analyst experience, preferably in enterprise software development
  • Experience producing high quality documentation including business requirements, use cases, software requirements specifications, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Technical aptitude - comfortable discussing design and trade-offs of database updates
  • An ability to work on small, cross functional teams
  • Experience with documenting integration requirements of third party systems, including APIs and databases
  • Experience performing manual QA
  • Math/statistics or data analysis background
  • Extreme attention to detail and completeness
  • Experience with agile development frameworks

Nice to have:

  • Some coding experience or a desire to learn is a plus
  • Startup experience is a plus
  • Experience with the Atlasssian tool suite including Confluence & JIRA is a plus

What we're looking for, in a nutshell: The Business Analyst will be the key liaison between the technical and business teams at Amherst Residential. A little more about this role: * Responsibilities will include gathering and documenting business requirements, writing formal project documentation, planning and performing user acceptance testing, and assisting with implementations. * Work as an integral part of a project team made up of business stakeholders, vendors and development resources responsible for planning, developing, testing and implementing technical solutions. * Work closely with end users to understand the business processes and identify and document the business needs. * Works closely with vendors and developers to understand how our systems work, to identify innovative solutions and to troubleshoot and resolve issues. * Provides post production support to end users following implementations as well as ongoing tier 2 support. * Assist with special projects as assigned by the VP of Systems Analysis. What you'll need to have: * 2-4 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Project Manager or a degree in a related field required. * Experience working in an Agile development environment is preferred. * Experience with financial systems or property management software preferred. * Real estate or financial services background is a plus. * Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills. * Must be tech-savvy with the proven ability to understand and explain software. * Must be able to work both independently and with a team. * Must be comfortable working on tight timelines in a start-up like environment.
