Job Description:

The Oregon State Hospital, a division of the Oregon Health Authority, has an exciting opportunity for you as the next Business Analyst within the Accounting department of the Oregon State Hospital, located in Salem, Oregon.

This position falls under the classification of Program Analyst 1.

This position may allow for a hybrid work schedule utilizing in-hospital and remote work locations after trial service period has been successfully completed.

This is a full-time, permanent, classified position which is represented by a union.

What you will do!

As the Business Analyst, you will coordinate with office staff, hospital staff, and other state agencies to present information or explain program rules and guidelines to assist with their compliance and understanding of policy, rules, and contract parameters. Cooperation with agencies outside the state may include other federal agencies/programs or medical institutions for the purpose of handling Outside Medical claims. This position will monitor program outcomes, evaluate results, and recommend program improvements related to all types of transactions and processes to assist with efficiency and compliance. You will work with staff to coordinate the processing of Outside Medical claims, assist with the processes for outside medical billing compliance & determinations related to other Federal programs, and various other assignments related to program and policy guidelines.

What we are looking for:

Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or a degree related to the agency program that demonstrates the capacity for the knowledge and skills. OR

Any combination of experience or education equivalent to three years technical-level experience that typically supports the knowledge and skill requirements listed for the classification.

Desired Knowledge and Skills:

  • Analytical thinking and creative problem-solving abilities.

  • One year or more of experience in medical billing.

  • Experience in creating and implementing training programs and materials.

  • Experience in diagnosing and resolving technical issues and conducting system testing.

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications.

  • Recognizing the value of collaboration and teamwork within the workplace setting.
