Job Description:

The Oregon State Fire Marshal in Salem, Oregon, is hiring for one (1) full-time, permanent Business Analyst (Operations & Policy Analyst 2) position in our Information Technology team.

As the Business Analyst, you will join us as we continue to grow a new agency. This position will help establish and improve business processes by acting as a focal point of contact with business users. The successful candidate will partner with our agency customers to understand their business processes, build out requirements, model workflows, and assist in successfully implementing new solutions. Our Business Analyst will also have the opportunity to serve on our Agency Operations Center or Agency Drive Team to directly assist in firefighting efforts throughout the state. Minimum Qualifications (these must be described in your resume for full consideration):

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and two years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work. OR;

  • Any combination of experience and education equivalent to five years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skills for the classification.

Preferred Skills (these must be described in your cover letter for full consideration):

  • Expertise with business analysis

  • Expertise with technical writing

  • Experience with project management

  • Experience with data management

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing

  • Ability to work with diverse individuals/groups and prioritize workload
