Class Summary

The Office of Strategy and Performance Management seeks to strategically align and enhance the people, processes, and systems of County Administration departments through strategic program design and execution, and the design and deployment of innovative and actionable customer-focused solutions.

This Office seeks a talented Business Analyst with strong strategic analysis and performance measurement development capabilities and skills. This person will be part of a team that is pivotal in driving Gwinnett County's strategic priorities, including coordinating across the organization on strategy, innovation, and increased productivity and performance. This role has high visibility to the management team in a dynamic government-business environment.

Position Specific Responsibilities

  • Supports the overall County Priorities and Strategies

  • Develop and manage relationships within County departments and across the organization to promote and advance the Management Framework

  • Coordinate strategy, business plans and initiatives

  • Assist in the development and deployment of key performance indicators across all County Departments

  • Use data driven evidence to influence change to processes, analyze operating models to identify issues and present creative solutions to management

  • Communicate on a regular basis with key stakeholders, especially with Department Leaders, on progress of projects within assigned departments

  • Lead content development for key management reports

  • Support and facilitate key meetings and strategy sessions including agenda setting, content coordination, action items, assignments, timelines; follow up to ensure progress against new deliverables and next steps

  • Assist with development and implementation of process improvements within departments to promulgate continuous improvement principles throughout the organization

  • Provide project management, facilitation and analytical support for OSPM-led projects and initiatives

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, or a closely related field

  • 2 years minimum (3+ years preferred) of professional analyst experience, including 2 years of project management experience

  • Strong written, presentation and oral communication skills (highly preferred)

  • Exceptional abilities in Microsoft Suite of applications Visio, Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, etc. (highly preferred)

  • Experience with strategy and performance management methodology (preferred)

  • Knowledge and experience with continuous improvement methods Lean, Six Sigma, etc.; (preferred)

  • Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
