This position is responsible for supporting the Sales & Marketing organization reporting to the VP of Marketing. The Business Analyst will be called upon to leverage data and experience to make decisions on customers and products. They will also be asked to be a conduit to customer service, finance, and manufacturing. The successful candidate will need to be proficient in data analysis and have a desire to learn all aspects of the business.

The Business Analyst will provide critical leadership in the following key areas of their product line responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate safety as a core value and establish a safe work environment by actively leading the safe execution of work.

  • Manage and promoter orders vs. forecast reports on a daily basis.

  • Update customer pricing in SAP to ensure accuracy. This includes one-time spot prices as well as ongoing programs.

  • Report on the profitability of products and customers.

  • Analysis and report on relevant market data and promote to the broader organization.

  • Build and maintain knowledge of existing customers as well as gain understating of future opportunities.

  • Enhance the profitability of the business by supporting the optimization of product mix, pricing, and profit margin.

  • Understand customer, product, service, and pricing requirements in the markets where ND precipitates.

  • Understand and analyze sales and product trends both inside ND and in the broader market.

  • Be the first contact to validate new customers by review for activity, are they set up in the system and any tons sold to the account.

  • Coordinate volume and pricing for Latest View and Annual Plan

  • Provide support to VP of Marketing and Sales Leadership.+

Objective: Business Assessment and Recommendations

  • Provide direction and recommendation for all new opportunities or change to current business.

  • Assess profitability, taking into consideration all aspects to maximize margins, meet quality and service capabilities, while minimizing risks

  • Understand customer, product, service, and pricing.

  • Provide market information for printing and writing to assist with business planning and market outlook.

  • Manage day-to-day interactions related to pricing, product, and sales guidelines/policy; serve as the escalation point for issues related to product and sales policy.

Objective: Machine Balance and Optimization

  • Ensure allocated machine capacities are filled with the best mix of grades and customers to optimize returns in line with strategic and operational plans while ensuring Customer satisfaction.

  • Identify risks and opportunities and the resulting impact on the order book balance.

  • Be the conduit between sales, order management, and operations on product and service issues.

Objective: Coordinate Volume and Pricing for Latest View and Annual Plan

  • Provide VP Marketing with volume and price forecast for monthly financial latest view.

  • Identify and communicate material changes.

  • Leads monthly supply alignment process to align supply & demand including:

  • SBU - Monthly Sales Forecast Update

  • Anticipating problems with supply/demand balance and coordinating with sales leadership to develop action plans.

  • Chairs monthly supply alignment review with Mill, Sales, CS, and Finance leadership

Objective: Work closely with Sales and the Marketing Communications Manager to promote ND Papers products.

  • Manage Development of Product Sells sheets

  • Manage sample inventory and sample fulfillment.

  • Provide routine monthly market updates and daily industry information including managing subscriptions, PPPC, RISI, and TTO.

Objective: Provide support to Sales and Executive Management

Assist with analysis, reporting requirements and other ad-hoc duties as required.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years' work experience.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PP, Word).

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present findings.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
