The Business Analyst role combines the traditional consulting skillset with a business analyst skillset to maximize our ability to identify business needs, ensure solutions meet the business needs, and achieve overall project success for our clients.

NEXT is accountable for doing whatever it takes to achieve the clients goals while maintaining unquestionable ethical standards. Although we expect the Business Analysts primary skill set is based on industry best practices, we require a well-rounded set of competencies to help ensure a successful outcome.

Requirements

  • Independently creates and documents requirements using appropriate and most effective tools (DOORS, etc.).

  • Versed in current standard business analysis techniques such as (SWOT Analysis, MOST Analysis, Requirements Interviews, Requirements Workshops, Business Process Modeling, Use Case Modeling, Data Modeling, User Stories, and Non-functional Requirements Analysis).
  • Effectively applies client, customer, and industry standard methodologies as required by the project and enforces project standards.
  • Collaborates with client and customer organizations on pre-project activities such as the RFP and proposal processes.
  • Collaborates with clients and NEXT consultants to develop high level plans associated with work assignments.
  • Consistently focuses on reducing risk and adding value on the project.
  • Ensures project requirement documents are complete, current, of high quality and stored appropriately.
  • Maintains required certifications (CBAP).

They are responsible for defining the business opportunity and the application that will serve it. The business analyst will work with the customers and other stakeholders to understand their needs and goals and translate those into requirements, scenarios, and quality of service requirements that the development team will use to build the application. The business analysts will examine a business activity to help decide whether new IT solutions will improve productivity.
