NEXT Consulting is focused on providing the best consulting services available. The Business Analyst role combines the traditional consulting skillset with a business analyst skillset to maximize our ability to identify business needs, ensure solutions meet the business needs, and achieve overall project success for our clients.
NEXT is accountable for doing whatever it takes to achieve the clients goals while maintaining unquestionable ethical standards. Although we expect the Business Analysts primary skill set is based on industry best practices, we require a well-rounded set of competencies to help ensure a successful outcome.
The Business Analyst is familiar with and can execute on the following competencies with minimum support from their management:

Proficient in modern computers and software.

BUSINESS ANALYST COMPETENCIES Collaborates with client and customer organizations to lead the identification of business needs, including software, system, process, and policy development and improvement, organizational change, and strategic planning. Collaborates with client and customer organizations to lead the identification and evaluation of solutions to business needs. Collaborates with client and customer organizations to complete the analysis and validation necessary to collect and develop requirements. Independently creates and documents requirements using appropriate and most effective tools (DOORS, etc.). Facilitates requirement reviews, manages the revision process, and gains approval from all relevant stakeholders. Works closely with team members (Developers, QA, etc.) throughout the project to ensure the requirements are fully understood and met. Successfully tracks requirements throughout the lifecycle. Works with team to perform corrective action through change management, when necessary. Consistently and correctly reports on the status of deliverables against the requirements. Versed in current standard business analysis techniques such as (SWOT Analysis, MOST Analysis, Requirements Interviews, Requirements Workshops, Business Process Modeling, Use Case Modeling, Data Modeling, User Stories, and Non-functional Requirements Analysis). Effectively applies client, customer, and industry standard methodologies as required by the project and enforces project standards. Collaborates with client and customer organizations on pre-project activities such as the RFP and proposal processes. Collaborates with clients and NEXT consultants to develop high level plans associated with work assignments. Consistently focuses on reducing risk and adding value on the project. Ensures project requirement documents are complete, current, of high quality and stored appropriately. Maintains required certifications (CBAP).

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES Possesses general understanding in the areas of technical infrastructure, software development, networks, security, and overall solution design. Possesses general understanding of Internet, Intranet, extranet and common architectures. Is capable of conducting interviews and other types of diagnostic techniques.

CONSULTING COMPETENCIES Is capable of researching and gathering market and competitive data and analyzing the data to make a relevant judgment or decision. Conducts research to investigate and study materials to back up existing conclusions, or reach new ones. Versed in classical business strategy models. Completes analytical reading and accurately interprets standard business documents. Versed in a wide range of strategic planning methodologies (PEST, Scenario planning, Porter five forces, SWOT, Balanced Scorecard, and Responsive evaluation). Possesses the ability to create strategic planning documents.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES Understands Internet, Intranet, extranet, and common architectures. Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential impact or application on client engagements.
