About this team

The Business Analyst will play a key role on our Data and Analytics team in our journey to become a data-led organization. This person will be an advocate for business intelligence solutions and analytics across the organization and key in enabling business leaders and teams to the possibilities of new insights and ideas through data.

This position will work extensively with business units, project stakeholders, and technology team members to define, implement, sustain and leverage our data ecosystem across our programs. We are looking for a passionate, high-energy individual who is excited about delivering data-driven capabilities to meet lululemon's growing insights, analytics and intelligence capabilities leveraging the best-in-class industry proven solutions.

This individual must have a track record of working in a collaborative environment and should take pride in evolving the entire organization to create the future data technology platform for growth. This person should have experience in retail and a background in business analysis in Business intelligence and analytics.

A day in the life:

  • Instrumental in capturing high level business requirements and translation into detailed business requirements and actionable functional specifications.

  • Facilitates the identification and documentation of business process changes/improvements.

  • Where appropriate, manages assigned projects or project deliverables including requirements, process maps, functional and configuration specifications, training material, issue logs, production support tickets and other deliverables as required.

  • Work with application developers through the development and configuration cycles to ensure systems and modification meet business needs.

  • Prepares and delivers user training and documentation for relevant processes, systems and projects.

  • Seeks and receives feedback from users and implementation partners, evaluates needs and responds accordingly.

  • Undertakes any other related duties as required.


  • Bachelor's degree and/or applicable experience in information technology field.

  • 4+ years of business analyst experience within technology and analytics

  • Experience in retail working with big data.

  • Demonstrated experience in translating business requirements into technology solutions.

  • Proven experience working within the software delivery lifecycle.

  • Demonstrated ability to build constructive business and IT relationships and gain the trust of others in a cross-functional environment.

  • Demonstrated experience in making tradeoffs between business needs and technology constraints

  • Experience in producing technology requirements based off of conceptual architecture. Experience in producing business architecture.

  • Experience in creating technology roadmaps that are prioritized and aligned with business partners.

  • Contemporary with the business analyst discipline in regards to work methods, processes and artifacts.

  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and operating under tight time constraints with a strong sense of urgency.

  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, negotiation and presentation. Must be able to communicate technical and project management concepts in business-oriented terms.

  • Experience working with international teams preferred.

Job Detail The Business Analyst is part of the HR Reporting and Analytics team and will be the liaison between the end users/stakeholders and the team. It will be the Business Analyst's reasonability to work with stakeholders to discover, capture, analyze, document, validate, and communicate business requirements, as well as communicate systems functionality for reporting and analytics solutions. They will work closely with the development team, ensuring that requirements are clear and that the end product meets the stakeholder's needs. You must possess superb analytical capabilities, outstanding business insight, and excellent verbal and written English communication skills. You must be able to work independently within broad guidelines, function effectively under time constraints, and work on a number of complex projects simultaneously. Responsibilities: * Partner with our stakeholders to define their data and reporting requirements and translate them into business requirements and technical specifications. * Collaborate with development team to design and develop solutions which meet the needs of our business. * Proactively work with stakeholders to understand needs and priorities. * Participate in prioritization of backlog to align with customer needs and business value. * Develop and maintain documentation pertaining to the reporting catalog, KPI's, data dictionary, etc... * Maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders and the development team. * Complete ad-hoc reporting requests utilizing tools such as Excel, Tableau, etc... * Develop an expert level understanding of major business processes and associated data within the business domains they are supporting. Requirements: * BS or BA degree in information systems, computer science, business administration or related work experience. * Business Analysis Certification (CBAP or CCBA) is considered an asset * Experience: * Minimum 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role with an emphasis in BI and analytics * Operating and/or analytics experience in one of the following domains is an asset: Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, or Human Resources. * Experience with the full report development lifecycle and/or agile development methodologies a plus. * Experience with Microsoft stack tools in a reporting environment including querying SQL Server via SSMS. * Experience with Atlassian suite of tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc…) * Experience with Collibra or similar tools a plus. * Knowledge of and experience querying databases including Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and/or 2016 * Strong analytical and problem solving skills. * Strong customer focus and understanding of Business Value Add – ability to define business problems, generate hypotheses about the causes of business problems, manage projects, develop solutions, manage stakeholders, and manage change. * Excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills.
