This role is within the JBS Imports Team and reports to the Head of the Business Unit. The position will support sales and operations of the Business Unit with timely, relevant analysis to help with decision making to support sales growth and profitability. The desired candidate must have strong analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.


  • Bachelor's degree in AG Business, Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Analytics or other relevant training and experience.

  • 3+ years' experience working in an analytical capacity.

  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and ask questions as needed.

  • Meat industry experience is a major plus.

  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel required.

  • Experience in QlikView, Qlik Sense, SQL script, SAP BPC, and SAP Business Objects is desired, but not required.


  • Manage performance reporting of the Business Unit, category, vendor, customer reports.

  • Oversee KPI data (Key Performance Indicators) to ensure accuracy/consistency of goals.

  • Provide timely and accurate information to senior staff and other decision-makers.

  • Take lead on identifying areas where further analysis can improve performance and financial results.

  • Work closely with department team members to complete information requests with a focus on continuous improvement and automation.

  • Implement new technology where needed to improve processes and the quality of information.

  • Be able to clearly communicate with leadership and peers on complex issues specific to the industry.

  • Other analysis and project management to support the JBS Imports team.

This includes selecting, blueprinting, gathering requirements, designing, and rolling out BI solutions to the business community. The Business Intelligence Analyst is also responsible for ensuring high levels of BI availability through support functions and in-depth testing. Strategy & Planning * Assess and cultivate long-term strategic goals for BI development in conjunction with business partners, managers, clients, and other stakeholders. Acquisition & Deployment * Conduct research and make recommendations on BI products, services, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts. * Evaluate and select database/data warehouse components, including hardware, relational database management systems, ETL software, metadata management tools, and database design solutions. Operational Management * Direct, organize, and lead projects in the implementation and use of new BI software tools and systems. * Lead the integration efforts for merging BI platforms with enterprise systems and applications. * Design, code, test, and document all new or modified BI systems, applications, and programs. * Develop the semantic layer, metadata, reports, and report definitions. * Develop graphs and portal interfaces. * Assist in the design of databases and data warehouses to ensure interoperability with BI solutions. * Analyze user requirements and, based on findings, design functional specifications for BI front-end applications. * Produce ETL design guidelines to ensure a manageable ETL infrastructure for the BI system. * Work with project managers to ensure that data entry, retrieval, change, and delete functions meet business requirements for project completion. * Conduct job duties and responsibilities according to the organization's business systems development methodology and/or its Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology. * Design and deliver end-user training and training materials; provide technical support as necessary. * Troubleshoot BI tools, systems, and software; performance-tune these applications as necessary. * Act as evangelist for BI benefits across the organization; promote BI usage to relevant departments. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: * College diploma or university degree or relevant business experience. Required Experience: The ideal candidate will have work experience related to reporting, business intelligence, or data analysis. They will possess a strong ability to analyze user requirements and build front-end BI applications according to specifications. Candidate will have some or all of the following experience: * Data warehouse analysis and design experience, with knowledge of data warehouse methodologies and data modeling. * Experience with tier-one applications such as PeopleSoft, Banner, Accela, etc. * Experience with MS SQL Server and Oracle databases and data warehouses. * Expertise with Microsoft PowerBI * Experience with visualization and predictive analytics tools. * Demonstrated ability with ETL tools. * Experience with DAX, M, SQL, R, Python. * Experience with SSRS and SSAS. * Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices. * Full project management and development life cycle experience. * Experience with database design. * Experience with Crystal Reports. * Technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems. * Experience with data processing flowcharting techniques. * Strong understanding of the organization's goals and objectives. * Good knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws. Preferred Certification: * Data Science/BI certifications not required, but desirable.
