Job Description:

  • Act as lead liaison between technical resources and operations personnel, ensuring a smooth flow of information to develop Business Requirements.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize solutions to problems while considering timeliness, effectiveness, and practicality in addressing needs.

  • Have a solid grasp of business processes and flow of information with aim to increase efficiency and informational dissemination.

  • Individual will be a multi skilled individual with a deep understanding of core business, internal personnel and external clients.

Required Skills:

  • Candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to be able to gather business requirements and understand underlying processes.

  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and multiple people in a fast-paced work environment with an action and results orientated approach.

  • Ensure quality control is administered to deliver quality work consistently with group and organization standards.

  • Must have good time management skills and be highly organized and ability to pass on these qualities to group members.

  • Promote self-sufficiency and guide group to creative approaches to problems.

  • Intermediate to advance understanding of databases, data structure and underlying data

  • Ability to utilize SQL scripts/queries as a complimentary skill set.

Education and experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science or similar.

  • Preferred higher education at Masters level

  • 2-4 years of related experience preferred or performance related experience

Physical requirements/Working conditions:

  • Climate controlled office environment

  • Minimal physical requirements other than occasional light lifting of boxed materials

  • Dynamic, time-sensitive environment

Reviews systems, processes and technologies on a project basis to provide an overall analysis with recommendations for process, system and technology improvements. Provides analysis to department management with appropriate solutions to reduce costs, recommend automations and promote efficiency within the department. Under direct supervision, oversees projects of various complexity or phases of larger projects for multiple lines of business. Must have the ability to develop strong working relationships with all impacted teams they interface with on a daily basis. Serve as ambassador role for both business and technical areas. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Gathers data and analyzes business operations to understand strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions, reduce costs, and maintain and reach department objectives. * Develops and/or updates documentation of projects and system or process changes and provides feedback to all parties in a timely manner. Assists in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology and processes. * Conducts analysis with a focus on recommending and offering requirements, such as use cases, business process flows, data flow diagrams, etc. Prepares charts and diagrams to visualize and assist in problem analysis. * Develops high level business requirements for functional specifications. * Obtains, captures, and validates needed information from stakeholders to form requirements through various analysis techniques. Translates high level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization. Responsible for requirements management, approval, change, and traceability. Works on multiple projects as a project team member. * Proactively searches for process improvement opportunities and technologies to meet company goals. * May assist in the development of all the project management documents, such as: the project proposal, the project charter, the project schedule and plan. * Constantly monitors and reports on progress of the projects to all stakeholders. Effectively communicates relevant project information to business owners and management. * Creates measurable and maintainable solutions that perform well and meet business needs. Creates and maintains business process maps for use in training and identification of process gaps, bottlenecks and loopholes. * Leads the planning and implementation of projects across multiple lines of business to ensure achievement of corporate objectives. * Provides support to other analysts, resolve issues and assists other team members with complex or challenging issue resolution. * Travel may be required. * All other duties as assigned. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: * Two to four years of business analyst experience * Two to four years of Insurance industry P&C PPA or Small Commercial experience. * Education equivalent to a college degree in an information technology related or business administration related discipline, supplemented by insurance or computer related courses/knowledge, or the equivalent in related work experience. REQUIRED JOB SKILLS: * Must have strong critical thinking, organizational and above average written/verbal communication skills. * Experience working with business processes related controls and procedures as well as improvement initiatives. * Position requires the ability to work effectively amidst constant interruptions. * The ability to manage numerous projects at one time. * Pressure to complete projects in a timely manner and ensure a high quality. * Ability to understand and develop business requirements and work with staff at all levels to implement improvements to processes and tools. * Ability to communicate (verbal and written) complex technical concepts to Information Technology, other Business Units and front-line employees in ways each group will understand. * Must have above average attention to detail and organizational skills. * Strong PC skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Power Point.
