Summary

The Business Analyst provides day-to-day oversight, monitoring and configuration of all aspects of the Enterprise Systems pertaining to one or more constituent departments. The Analyst is the primary contact for and provides support to the various departments using Enterprise applications. The Analyst is also the primary communication link to the Enterprise Systems department staff for questions or needs relative to Enterprise Systems usage in these areas.

This position will follow a hybrid work schedule once all trainings are complete. The hybrid schedule will be 3 days in office and 2 work from home days.

Essential Functions

  • Develop diagnostic queries and reports to identify and resolve data, process and/or system functionality issues.

  • Support end user usage of web applications for timekeeping systems, finance systems, data warehouse, document imaging and other emerging systems.

  • Screen security levels to the appropriate application systems.

  • Integrate new process with existing ones and coordinate training requirements for end-users.

  • Recommend and facilitate improvements to current process policies and procedures. Communicate and resolve process issues with functional staff.

  • Provide detailed functional specifications and coordinate programming requirements with technical staff for system modifications.

  • Assist the Manager in working with business process owners and/or end users to ensure design and scope align with functional expectations and priorities as related to the modules as well as provide input, business solutions and alternatives for best practices and compliance projects as they relate to modules.

  • Develop ad hoc reports to respond to client needs.

  • Evaluate needs and establish procedures and documentation for end user training.

  • Write business processes in conjunction with functional users.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining test scripts and perform testing of new functionality and customizations and/or upgrades.

  • Identify, report and recommend resolutions for project issues, perform as advocate for user constituents, and promote acceptance of new processes and systems.

  • Abide by college policies and the Freedom of Information Act when dealing with sensitive and confidential information.

  • Perform related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

  • Combination of education and experience that meets one of the following:

  • Associate's degree with experience using and supporting administrative information systems, OR

  • 3 years experience developing, enhancing and supporting administrative information systems, OR

  • Combination of college education and experience supporting administrative information systems totaling 4 years.

  • Experience using and/or supporting educational ERP systems. (such as PeopleSoft, Banner, Workday, etc.)

  • Experience with several PC Window's applications and adept at configuring and developing proficiency with new applications, using query languages and end user reporting tools.

  • Experience in supporting applications with web interfaces which link to back end databases.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong analyzing and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong organizing and prioritizing skills to meet critical deadlines.

  • Strong multi-tasking and decision-making skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with others.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a computer related field.

  • Experience using and/or supporting information systems in an academic environment.

  • Experience with higher education business practices specifically in one or more of the following: Recruiting, Corporate and Community Education, Financial Aid, Student Finance, Advising, Admissions, or Enrollment Services.

  • Advanced PeopleSoft skills, specifically with Campus Solutions applications.

  • General knowledge of relational databases, SQL and programming concepts.

  • Experience in systems design and analysis.

  • Experience in application training and software support.

  • Experience using the PeopleTools environment.
