Overview

Halifax Health is seeking a Business Analyst II for the IT - Security Department.

Summary

The Security Business Analyst II provides consultation and assistance to monitor and provide security for our networks, devices and data to include analyzing Halifax security requirements; designing and developing reports and presentations; troubleshooting and resolving logs issues; training users; and, writing user documentation.

Job Qualifications

  • Requires college training equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in a security related, technology, business or health-related field, or equivalent technical training.

  • Requires three years of experience in an operational or IT-related analyst role to gain exposure to security technical needs for healthcare computer systems and business operations.

  • An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience may be acceptable.

  • Requires skills in the following areas:

  • Customer Service

  • Analytical skills

  • Requirements gathering and documentation

  • Security technology and tools

  • Desirable experience in the following areas:

  • Project Management

  • Security technology and tools

  • Report writing and logging of issues

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan and teach user training sessions and make oral and written presentations to project teams and management.

  • Represent IT Security and training in one on one interactions, departmental meetings, or committees.

  • Identify malicious or anomalous activity based on event data from implemented systems.

  • Perform routine analysis of Security activity within Halifax, both behavior and technically.

  • Perform analysis of log files and data outputs.

  • Work with other teams to identify, resolve, and mitigate vulnerabilities in their systems.

  • Perform analysis of log files and data outputs.

  • Perform triage of incoming issues using ticket tracking system.

  • Provide tuning recommendations of security tools.

  • Produce and review metrics for security events.

  • Stay up-to-date with trends in the information security community including new vulnerabilities, methodologies, and products.

  • Create Security awareness campaigns to develop a security focused environment throughout Halifax.

  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Summary Through the review of operational functions, will perform tasks related to the revenue cycle and Physician Services support and acts as a liaison between Athena, staff, and leadership. Will also perform root cause analysis for denials, charge entry lags, claim holds and aged AR. This includes the review of interface errors, maintenance of the fee schedule, provider and department set-up, development of training materials, operational reporting, and creation of workflows. Job Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Health Services Administration, Health Information Management or relevant degree required. * HBI or HFMA credential required (must be completed within six months of hire) * Two years of healthcare, business or analytical experience required * Customer-service oriented; able to effectively communicate and build relationships with staff members at all levels in the organization * Able to manage multiple projects * Self motivated * Proficiency in creating training materials and documentation * Ability to transfer knowledge to clients with diverse cultural backgrounds, educational experiences, and learning styles * Team oriented work ethic * Understands intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel functions Job Duties and Responsibilities * Review interface errors, claim holds, denials, zero payment adjustments to identify coding, authorization, data entry issues and assists with the coordination of an action plan with managers to include coding education when applicable. * Supports Physician Services and works with leadership to disseminate information that will assist and improve revenue cycle performance. * Assist with reporting operational KPIs, financial metrics and other measures. * Provide solutions regarding issues with data analytics. * Assist with pricing and updating the fee schedule. * Responsible for running and producing recurring reports. * Work with Internal Audit, office/hospital based managers and PBFS staff and leaders utilizing dashboard statistics to ensure all charges are captured accurately and timely. * Assist with the standardization of knowledge management materials to include computer-based learning programs, manuals and other content as needed. * Assist with testing of new system functionality to learn and help implement associated training programs. * Assist with the development and periodic review of educational documents to ensure that materials are up-to-date and meet the objectives of the assigned business units. * Receive and evaluate feedback for the purpose of identifying training opportunities and ongoing improvements to existing educational materials. * Assist with the resolution of issues that arise between PBFS and office staff. * Responsible for understanding the impact of system projects and policy and procedure changes. * Represent PBFS in relevant meetings and/or committees and participate in planning for future training needs. * Promote and adhere to departmental and organizational information, security policies, standards and procedures. * Assist with charge entry and claim corrections. * Perform other related duties as required.
