Business Analyst II, AWS New Regions Data Center Planning

DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a strong business analyst who can surface key insights from data. You will contribute to the long-term vision for the team, conduct data analyses, identify high-impact opportunities for the business, create metrics that fill knowledge gaps, support data reporting needs, and analyze the quantitative impact of business innovations.

Additionally, this role will be instrumental in the continued development of a reliable and scalable infrastructure for ongoing analytics and reporting in order to deliver actionable insights to business leaders. As a business analyst, you will work with program managers to communicate insights to key stakeholders. You will not only execute on the required skills but also be able to influence, educate, and drive results in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Key job responsibilities

Design and implement reporting solutions enabling new region planning and delivery teams to make effective decisions.

Monitor existing metrics, develop and propose new metrics, and identify new, actionable insights.

Develop insightful visualizations using Tableau, QuickSight, etc.

Basic understanding of statistical analysis, identifying trends and making recommendations based on data analysis.

A day in the life

The primary focus of this role is to drive actionable insights that will help optimize cash flows, margin and overall region economics for AWS regions and enable AWS to scale in line with external customer adoption. This requires diving deep into the performance of newly launched regions, identifying key trends and optimizing investments in the region.

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS)

About the team

The New Regions DC Planning within the Data Center Planning and Delivery (DCPD) org is responsible for the short- and long-term data center plans for new infrastructure expansions within AWS. Charter of the team is to enable AWS to launch new regions in more locations across the globe.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Seattle, WA, USA

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, engineering , analytics, mathematics, statistics or a related technical or quantitative field

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

  • Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, engineering , analytics, mathematics, statistics or a related technical or quantitative field

  • Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders

  • Experience partnering with executive-level leaders to identifying and solving business issues

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $143,100/year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
