Position Summary

The role is responsible for partnering with Carlyle internal and external stakeholders to drive initiatives across Global Investment Solutions (GIS) core applications (DealCloud, Chronograph, Investran, Data Warehouse, Anaplan, Appian) and workflows. The position will work closely with GIS product owners, end users, and technology team on building out solutions for GIS.

The GIS Business Analyst is responsible for the following key functions:

  • Work with business sponsors and product owners of GIS-related products to prioritize enhancement requests and communicate those priorities with the development teams.

  • Act as the first line of support for new enhancement requests, translating the requests into existing capabilities or writing requirements for new capabilities.

  • Work with analysts and project managers/scrum masters from other lanes to coordinate changes that impact cross-system processes and/or integrations.

  • Serve as a liaison between internal Carlyle stakeholders and external service providers (where applicable)

  • Provide user support to business stakeholders of GIS-related products to help foster user adoption.

  • Provide process support to help simplify and standardize GIS business processes.

  • Provide support for standard and custom reporting needs for GIS.

  • Coordinate with (and participate in, when needed) production support to ensure the business user needs are being met with regards to user setup, configuration changes and issue resolution.

Responsibilities

New Requirements and Simplification (33% of time):

  • Receive requests for new functionality from users and help the business to prioritize these with the technical teams (both internal and external).

  • Utilize existing functionality to support requests where possible.

  • Draft requirements for needs that are not met in the current systems.

  • Work with technical teams to prioritize, plan, develop, and test the implementation of new requirements.

  • Coordinate and participate in the user testing for new functionality.

Process Support (25% of time):

  • Understand key business processes and support efforts to streamline and standardize these processes, by introducing automation or eliminating redundancies.

  • Participate in the planning and creation of new processes as the business evolves, and as system capabilities are added.

User and Production Support (20% of time):

Respond to user questions and provide solutions for immediate issues.

Meet regularly with business user groups to understand the pain points and provide recommendations to resolve these.

Ensure all production support requests requiring IT support are prioritized to meet the needs of business stakeholders.

Data Analysis and Reports (10% of time):

  • Support processes to review discrepancy reports and clean up data quality issues.

  • Provide operational reports for Investor Services, Investor Relations and Compliance, as requested.

Training (10% of time):

  • Provide training to power users for bug fixes, new enhancements, and new use cases within enterprise portal platforms.

Qualifications

Education & Certificates

  • Bachelor's Degree, required

  • Concentration in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other relevant field preferred

  • Scrum certifications (e.g. Certified Product Owner) a plus.

Professional Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree, required

  • Concentration in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other relevant field preferred

  • Scrum certifications (e.g. Certified Product Owner) a plus.

Competencies & Attributes

  • Experience in writing business requirements or user stories required.

  • Experience in documenting business processes required.

  • Experience in software testing a plus.
