Overview

This position is on the Facility Charge Management Team of Revenue Cycle Services. The Business Analyst is responsible for completing projects by working with various IU Health Clinical and Business Services teams (e.g., Information Services, Business Development, etc.) to ensure facility charging is established in a complete and compliant manger to represent the services provided by the clinical department(s) involved. This work is completed through a rigorous process that includes discovery, analysis, evaluation, confirmation, design, build submission, testing and quality assurance. The Business Analyst also supports other team members of the Facility Charge Management Team.

This position is a combination of work from home and in office!

We are looking for someone with the following qualities:

  • Knowledge of the practices, procedures, and concepts of the healthcare revenue cycle, specifically revenue integrity and its component operations, including billing, coding, charge capture, third-party reimbursement and/or compliance.

  • Experience in developing charge description master codes and charge capture processes.

  • Knowledge of facility charging systems (e.g, Cerner, ARIA, Wellsky, Wound Expert, McKesson, etc.) and how they function.

  • Knowledgeable in the use and application of Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS), and revenue codes.

  • Detail-oriented, with proven ability to effectively manage time, see tasks and projects through to completion, organize competing priorities and effectively address complex, urgent issues as they arise to meet the projects deadlines.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively on complex projects in a team environment with staff from a wide variety of business and clinical areas.

  • Proven ability to work with others, serving as a technical resource, providing recommendations and advice, collaborating on complex regulatory changes and how they impact the facility, and developing charge processing.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Access.

Bachelors degree preferred. Requires proficiency in MS Excel and Access. Experience in a healthcare, accounting or corporate finance setting strongly preferred.
