The Job

As a Business Analyst, you will provide strategic, analytical, and technical support for solution planning activities. You'll work closely with our IT planning teams and business clients to identify, collect, clarify, and translate business requirements into documentation (using appropriate tools and models) from which business cases and initiative roadmaps are developed.

You will conduct business case development, design presentations and perform business process analysis to ensure integration, communication, alignment and accurate hand-offs.

You will play a key role in soliciting and detailing business requirements as the team is moving to a Capabilities Based Model. You may act as an authority (SME) for our Customer Service and Power organization's applications. You will perform problem analysis, direct implementation of resolution and mitigation. You will also ensure all appropriate IT and client's technology planning artifacts are completed.

Your Areas of Focus Will Include

  • IT Systems Business Analysis Lead analysis of business requirements and the development of system requirements and design specifications to address complex business needs. Perform analysis to support a wide variety of business initiatives to integrate work across relevant areas, develop business strategies and services, improve client satisfaction and productivity, manage risks appropriately, execute business plans, and manage information.

  • Business Intelligence Provide valuable input to business intelligence roadmaps and development plans. Including ad-hoc report development and data mining.

  • IT Technology Partnerships Work with key business partners and IT teams, lead work to understand business priorities, identify strategic initiatives. Assess business imperatives and goals and articulate them as Information Technology needs. Facilitate translation of business needs to develop business cases. Collaborate with business and technology partners to elicit, analyze, translate, and document business requirements into technical requirements. Identify gaps in the potential solution and communicate to business partners.

  • Project Management Coordinate projects/programs, process improvement efforts, performance analytics/metrics, optimization, cost budgets, project resources to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Including the creation, tracking and coordination of the investment planning documents (Investment and project proposals).

  • Process Improvement lead the demand intake process and the identification and training on the use of appropriate tools to support the work intake and routing processes.

The essentials for your success...

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Five (5) years of experience in defining system requirements, project scope, and performing cost/benefit analysis.

Desired qualifications

  • Master's degree.

  • Experience with electric utility systems.

  • Ability to make effective decisions that meet business needs while minimizing risk and operating within company policies and all levels of regulations.

The overall team is responsible for developing company objectives, managing performance to achieve those objectives, and developing new capabilities through transformative changes to our business practices through the development of organizational and employee capabilities in Lean Six Sigma and the execution of transformation projects that leverage digital solutions. This is a newly formed team focused on delivering operational and service excellence in our goal to transform the electric power industry and become one of the nation's top electric utilities. About you… You're a dynamic and outgoing individual who enjoys fast paced environments! You're a strong collaborator who is comfortable in a high-profile and high-visibility support roles. You thrive in consulting and/or 'start up' environments and prove instrumental in helping your organization meet strategic initiatives. Position Overview As an Executive Assistant (EA), you will perform advanced administrative, secretarial, and clerical functions as well as special projects for two Directors, two Principle Managers and direct reports. This EA will act on behalf of the Directors in establishing and maintaining key working relationships with internal and external clients. EA will also coordinate completion of projects assigned to the Directors' direct reports. The position may perform general research to ensure project completion. EA may also research, recommend, and implement appropriate courses of action on administrative matters. This position will research and identify potential problem areas within the business unit or Company that require the Directors attention. You'll maintain confidentiality of the most sensitive (corporate and personal) information. Typical Responsibilities: * Manage complex and constantly changing calendars, prioritizing meetings based on importance/urgency and taking into consideration executive needs for preparation and travel time. * Ensure Directors are prepared for meetings, especially for all executive level meetings; coordinate routine to large scale executive-level meetings and events, including department and division all hands meetings; recognition activities; complete travel arrangements; interface with all levels of personnel, including officers, executives, senior management, government agency representatives and external clients; receive visitors; respond to and/or route external vendor/media calls and inquiries accordingly. * Help directors to coordinate the agenda for department meetings, coordinate the collection of the information from team members, record notes/action items from the meetings, and monitor/track completion of outstanding action items. * Prepare, maintain and organize files, including presentations, correspondence, documents and other materials, to ensure Directors and direct reports can retrieve and gain access to necessary materials in an organized manner. * Process expense reports, purchase orders, procurement and requisitions, timekeeping, and invoices utilizing SAP. Reconcile data (e.g. invoices, credit card statements spreadsheet data, etc.), identify inconsistencies and inaccuracies, and take needed corrective action. * Support team and administrative staff to ensure general office areas are stocked and provide support with program events management/meetings/workshops such as helping with logistics, catering, working with vendors, and ordering supplies when necessary. * Draft, proofread, edit, and reformat presentations and reports (including charts and tables) * Research, recommend, and implement appropriate courses of action/best practices on administrative matters. * Maintain a safety conscious work environment by following Edison safety protocols and safe work practices. * Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications * Proficient in the use of personal computers and in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel. * Four (4) years of experience performing advanced administrative, secretarial, and clerical support to Executive and/or Senior Leader and large teams (40 staff members or more). * Experience maintaining highly confidential information that has department and/or corporate impact. Desired Qualifications * Experience using SAP to process Non-Purchase Order and Invoice Payments, Microsoft PowerPoint and SharePoint, and other web-based meeting tools (e.g., Skype, WebEx, GoTo Meeting). * Four (4) years' experience working and communicating with executive level officers and external third parties. * Four (4) years' experience managing executive-level calendars, including making travel arrangements and coordinating routine to executive-level meetings and events (e.g., setting-up conference calls, configuring and using audio and visual projection equipment, reserving conference rooms, and preparing presentations and materials). * Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to convey a positive and professional image * Collaborative teamwork and leadership abilities.
