Job Description:

Works collaboratively with clients and stakeholders - both external and internal to the company - to research and elicit, analyze, validate and document business requirements, and to ensure that those requirements clearly reflect true business needs, correctly representing all stakeholders. Translates business needs into system/ application requirements and project components to help determine solutions to business problems. Assists team members in producing functional requirements for tool development. Proactively identifies and manages changes to requirements and identify risks for the company's clients. Effectively manages client's expectations. Applies industry and information technology expertise to support proposals, feasibility studies, implementations and new business development.


  • Under minimal direction, formulate and define system scope and objectives based on both user needs and a good understanding of information technology, business processes, and industry requirements.

  • Act as a liaison between client and technical solutions/ support groups, using advanced communication skills to elicit, document, analyze and validate client requirements.

  • Apply extensive knowledge of the client's business and industry to develop requirements specifications.

  • Document requirements, and translate into proper system requirements specifications using high-maturity methods, processes and tools.

  • Develop visualization, user experience and configuration elements of solution design.

  • Execute and coordinate requirements management and change management processes.

  • Develop and maintain internal and external relationships to support management of scope and expectations.

  • Participate in proposals, feasibility studies, implementations, and new business development.

  • Operates as a team member and as a team leader. Advise on methods to improve business processes.

  • Consider the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment.

  • May lead the training of clients and peers.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Typically a Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent experience and a minimum of 6 years related experience or a Master's degree and a minimum of 4 years of experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • 6 or more years experience.

  • Essential: requirements elicitation via interviewing; requirements determination using structured techniques for documentation, analysis, evaluation/ validation; decomposition of high-level information into details; abstracting low-level information; distinguishing requests vs needs; distinguishing requirements vs. solutions; classifying/ prioritizing requirements; OO techniques using UML models; ambiguity analysis, ensuring consistent understanding across users, designers and testers; business process modeling of current state and desired/ future state processes; defining and managing scope and client expectations, requirements change management and traceability; identifying and mitigating risks; applying creativity to solving complex problems; building relationships and working collaboratively; effective verbal/ written communication; experience in an industry domain.

  • Specialized: Function Point counting; survey execution; statistical analysis; developing structured user manuals and training; visualization modeling; business rules modeling; develop and executing acceptance test plans.

The BA handles project-level business engagement with customers, establishing scope and target schedule, and translating technical solutions into business impact. Ultimately, the BA is responsible for the client relationship, the document products, and the automation process. Responsibilities: * Develop document content through partnership with Legal, Operations, Compliance, and Risk & Controls * Support legal partners during content development by facilitating meetings, providing baseline documents, creating redlines, and engaging cross-impacted teams as needed * Document business justifications during project planning by engaging operations managers * Engage compliance partners and risk and control managers as needed to assess whether the requested change has compliance or control impacts * Become subject matter expert (SME) for document changes * Proactively review requests for completeness based on extensive knowledge of documents * Develop expertise in data from source systems * Engage integration application development teams when required by document change requests * Perform technical testing and integrated system testing as needed * Provide detailed information to test teams * Create and maintain business resiliency documents in a document library as part of the change management processes for automated documents * Interface with regulatory and other project teams as document SME for customers * Produce comprehensive requirements for document change projects * Hold meetings with integrated application development teams to document data mapping requirements * Create blacklines to show changes to document templates * Write functional specifications for changes to user interface or automated checklist functionality * Manage document change/automation projects * Establish scope of request * Obtain all required approvals for changes * Create project plans as needed * Set target schedules for testing and deployment * Track testing status and authorizations for UAT and Production deployments * Explain the impact to operations managers of the proposed technical solution * Participate in Agile / Scrum model processes for software development * Develop prioritization for the requests from each customer by interviewing business sponsors * Present document requirements in Product Backlog Refinement sessions * Participate in Sprint Review and Sprint Planning meetings Skills and Qualifications: Candidates should possess the following skills and traits: * Highly self-motivated, requiring minimal oversight and direction to complete assignments * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Strong analytical/problem-solving skills * Able to work well in a team environment * Adept at working with a diverse group of stakeholders; tailoring communication styles and methods as needed * Adept at managing small yet highly-detailed projects * Adept at managing multiple projects concurrently * Adept at managing meetings * Adept at gathering and documenting requirements * Adept at writing functional requirements, test plans, and other business materials common to an information systems project * Experience with unit and/or user acceptance testing desired * Experience with loan document preparation or review of legal documents desired * Proficiency in MS Office applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Visio and MS PowerPoint * BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience required * A minimum of three years working as an analyst in the financial services market or software industry, or five years working in legal document preparation Locations: Fort Worth/Plano, TX; Chicago, IL; or Newark, DE; and Seattle, WA Jpmorgan Chase & Co.
