Position Description:

As the Data Product Business Analyst, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our existing data products and driving new initiatives. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with cross-functional teams, communicating with business stakeholders, and ensuring the successful delivery and maintenance of data products, such as Power BI reports, Power Apps forms, and data warehouse business layer data. You'll serve as the primary business liaison.

Job Responsibilities:

• Documentation: Prepare and maintain documentation for data products, including user guides, release notes, and change logs.

• Requirements Gathering: Engage with business users to understand their needs, and identify opportunities for new data products, gather requirements, and provide timely updates on product enhancements.

• Change Management: Develop change management strategies, communication plans, and assist in managing the transition from legacy systems to new data products.

• Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between business and technology teams to ensure a clear understanding of requirements across all Seaspan functions.

• Training: Conduct training sessions for end-users, ensuring they understand how to effectively use data products.

• Support: Provide continuous assistance and resolve user queries concerning product functionality. Maintain and improve existing data products to ensure they align with business requirements and performance standards.

• Data Quality: Collaborate with data engineers and data scientists to ensure data quality across data products.

• Validation and Testing: Implement data validation processes, monitor data accuracy, and address any anomalies. Create and execute test plans and test cases to validate data product functionality.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of proven experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role.

• Proven experience in master data management (MDM), for example, data consistency, data quality, centralized data repository, data governance, integration and interoperability, compliance, and operational efficiency.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently.

• Strong communication skills to effectively liaise between technical and business teams.

• Experience With Power BI or similar business intelligence tools, preferably utilizing data warehouse.

• Background in Quality Assurance with hands-on experience in creating and executing test cases.

Additional Desired Qualifications:

• Relevant certifications in Business Analysis, Quality Assurance, or related fields.

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of SQL for querying, which can help with data validation and enhance data analysis capabilities.

• Familiarity with Power Apps in terms of usage and functions (not necessarily development skills).

• Understanding of fleet management processes, including logistics and maintenance.

• Experience working with financial data.

Job Demands and/or Physical Requirements:

• As Seaspan is a global company, occasional work outside of regular office hours may be required.

Compensation and Benefits package:

Seaspan's total compensation is based on our pay-for-performance philosophy that rewards team members who deliver on and demonstrate our high-performance culture. The hiring range for this position is $80,000 - $90,000 CAD per annum. The exact base salary offered will be commensurate with the incumbent's experience, job-related skills and knowledge, and internal pay equity. In addition to base salary, we offer a competitive total rewards package which includes an annual performance-based bonus, a comprehensive benefits package (extended health, dental, life and disability insurance), retirement savings plan matching and other company-provided rewards.
