As a key member of the Clinical Reporting and Analysis Team, you will be part of UnitedHealth Group's mission of helping people live healthier lives. As a Business Analyst Consultant, you will be challenged to conduct and assist operations with business outcomes that include analyzing, reviewing, forecasting, trending, and presenting information for operational performance steering and business planning. You'll work directly with both product and operational leaders to support short and long term operational/strategic business activities - by developing, enhancing and maintaining operational reporting and dashboards. You will assist product and operations to develop and implement effective/strategic business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes. You will be challenged to understand new data systems, creating data updates and automation to drive consistency for operational and business planning. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support Operational and Product partners of VA Premier Client with operational insights into performance as dedicated, aligned reporting & analysis partner

  • Solution, develop, consult, and support operational and product's analysis needs

  • Help establish strong relationships and a deep understanding of ops teams, their needs, and the clients they serve in regular touch points and meetings

  • Build comprehensive operational Tableau tools to measure client, program, process, and staff performance

  • Support environment of collaboration with others, remaining flexible to changing business needs, and is accountable to others with action items and deliverables

  • Learn operational documentation and available data for reporting and ad-hoc needs

  • Work with business partners to create business metrics and performance indicators

  • Host business reviews with partners and facilitate action planning, support business review content through data aggregate, reporting, and presentation as needed

  • Create reporting or give insights on operational processes to highlight opportunities to business partners for more accurate documentation and reporting

  • Helps identify, discuss, and establish proactive improvement plans for performance gaps and facilitates conversations on opportunities with performance and drive action

Required Qualifications

  • 5 years of using Tableau for building Reports, Tools, and Dashboards (expert proficiency)

  • 3 years of writing T-SQL for data querying and reporting purposes (intermediate proficiency)

  • 3 years working and actively collaborating with product and operational partners, at all levels of the organization

  • 2 years of Business Analysis (using data to highlight opportunities, analyzing that data to create insights and actionable recommendations to business partners)

  • Ability to research data need scope and reporting feasibility, directing partners supplying data feasibility scope

  • Ability to balance competing priorities and prioritize based on highest value to organization and need

  • Ability to work in a self-directed environment

  • Ability to communicate analysis including trends and opportunities to business partners verbally and in writing

  • Eye for detail and keen design sense to highlight action items in reporting and analysis

  • Advanced proficiency with Excel

  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Access, PowerPoint

  • Experience working within a matrix organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors or higher

  • Experience in a Medicaid, Utilization and Care Management Operations, HealthCare/Medical Industry

  • Prior experience managing projects:

  • Experience driving success in projects through organization and holding people accountable

  • Experience gathering and documenting requirements from the client/business

  • Experience with process improvement, workflow, benchmarking and / or evaluation of business processes

  • Experience working with External Clients and understanding the whole scope of the business/Operational Needs

  • Experience with contractual language, understanding external party requirements, and interpreting needs

  • Working knowledge of relational databases, database structures

The Senior Prepay Coding Investigation Consultant will work with a team on researching issues to determine feasibility of reducing medical costs through prospective solutions of claim system processes and claim business rules. Primary Responsibilities: * Perform coding review and make determination on case/payment disposition * Examine, assess, and document business operations and procedures to ensure data integrity, data security and process optimization * Investigate, recover, and resolve all types of claims as well as recovery and resolution for health plans, commercial customers, and government entities * Investigate and pursue recoveries and payables on subrogation claims and file management * Initiate phone calls to members, providers, and other insurance companies to gather coordination of benefits information * Process recovery on claims * Ensure adherence to state and federal compliance policies, reimbursement policies, and contract compliance * Use pertinent data and facts to identify and solve a range of problems within area of expertise Required Qualifications: * High School Diploma / GED (or higher) * Licensed RN / LPN or Certified Coder * 3 years of experience with claims auditing and researching claims information * 1 years of experience analyzing data and identify cost saving opportunities * Flex schedule available Monday-Friday after training/ramp/meeting quality and CPH metrics Preferred Qualifications: * 1 years of experience working with E&I, M&R, and/or C&S medical claims platforms * Undergraduate degree (or higher) in healthcare or related field * Knowledge of Medicaid/Medicare Reimbursement methodologies * Basic proficiency in reporting, storing and analyzing information using Microsoft Access Physical Requirements and Work Environment: * Frequent sitting, use of hands/fingers across keyboard or mouse, handling other objects, long periods working at a computer Careers with Optum.
