JOB SUMMARY

  • Under minimal supervision this position supports operational, clinical, quality, logistical and improvement initiatives throughout the organization as it relates to Care Coordination and Patient Flow. The Business Data Analyst performs a wide variety of organizational / administrative analysis including but not limited to configuration/maintenance, security, business case analysis, upgrades, expertise and system change control of the systems in Phoebe Care Central Command Center. Additionally, this person will perform in the role of project manager. The work of this position requires data mining, assimilation, analysis and conversion into various forms of useful information for use by Management in making decisions and/or RCA driving toward process improvement. Develops methods for measuring outcomes against standards with effective qualitative and quantitative measurement tools. The position may serve as Project Lead on projects using expertise in patient flow, Teletracking System, MediTech interfacing departments and system policy & procedures. Provides support to PPHS management and staff by providing relevant, timely data and analyses to assist in analyzing operations and making informed decisions.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures

  • Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self education, attends ongoing educational programs)

  • Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.

  • Must possess a broad understanding of personal computer system concepts including hardware, software, operating systems and network communications.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • General environment: Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area, with moderate noise levels.

  • May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights.

  • May be required to change from one task to another of different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.

  • Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • 4 year / Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration or other health related field (Required)
  • Master's Degree (Preferred)

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 1 - 2 years systems analysis, programming experience using software tools like Tableau, HTML, SQL and Microsoft Office preferably in a hospital setting with responsibilities for data analysis and/or application support (Required)
  • 1 - 2 years If no Information System degree, candidates must have data and/or system applicable experience (Preferred)
  • 2 - 3 years Experience in Healthcare clinical or non-clinical. Process Improvement experience. (Preferred)
