Broadridge is hiring a Business Analyst in our Long Island location. You will be responsible for capturing, organizing, documenting and validating business requirements, clarifying business requirements to the engineers/developers, and ensuring the solution developed meets the project requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis

  • You will critically evaluate information captured from various sources, reconcile conflicts, dissects high-level information into details, abstracts up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish client requests from the underlying true needs

  • You will actively communicate and collaborate with the client and software development team to analyze information needs and functional requirements to deliver Business Scoping Documents.

  • You will utilize experience in using enterprise-wide requirements definition and management systems and methodologies as required

  • You will successfully engage in multiple initiatives, at a time

  • You will work independently with client and internal end users to define concepts

  • You will drive and challenge client users on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans.

  • You will collaborate with software developers and domain experts to establish the technical vision and analyze trade-offs between usability and performance needs.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience

  • Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a deep understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements

  • A self-starter with excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills

  • Ability to write a Business Scope Report outlining the client project requirements that can be used by software developers to design effective software solutions and functionality for the clients business

  • Ability to liaison between the business units, technology teams and support

Responsibilities include: * You'll balance technology and business issues as well as communicate appropriately with both experts. * Conduct analysis of business issues and challenges. * You will identify organization's strengths and weaknesses and suggest areas of improvement. * You'll document functional specifications, conversions, upgrades, interfaces, reports, forms, and workflow. * Translate business requirements into appropriate Functional specifications. * You will recommend solutions to improve business decision-making with a focus on the core systems, technology strategies and standards. * Facilitate group meetings such as workshops. * Work with end-users to define and execute test scenarios and ensure appropriate end user training. * Perform analysis of requests for system development / maintenance and determine the most effective approach. * Work with product management, clients and the user community to define business requirements as needed. * Work with the product management, user community, various technical groups (on and off shore) and vendors in the development of functional / technical specifications. * Working closely with the development team, develop project and program documentation and specifications including Functional and Technical Requirements documentation. * Develop project plans, which will be used to track the progress of a project. * Develop project target landmarks and completion dates and enforce an agreed upon schedule. * Aid in the design of test plans for new or modified programs to ensure their quality, efficiency, integrity and alignment against specifications. * Participate in feasibility study, conceptual design and/or system presentation as required. * Collaborate with clients as needed and coordinate major development projects effectively define and control project tasks, personnel assignments and target dates for each task. * Assist in the preparation for implementation and alignment to standards and procedures for application installs. * Maintain appropriate project documentation * Timely communication of project statuses * Be responsive to all production problems assigned.
