Job Description Summary

Under the direction of the Sr.

Manager, Business & Process Analysis, the Business Analyst will serve as the primary point of contact between operational stakeholders, product management, product technical teams, and deployment groups.

This position will provide direct support to all business analysis (BA) activities and as a Business Analyst, this role will be responsible for ensuring that all business requirements and business processes are adequately documented and implemented as expected. In the development of business process and requirements documentation, this position will be required to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies, and business systems. In this role, the Business Analyst will be required to understand, communicate, and document the complex business requirements and opportunities through a standard product deployment process and recommend solutions that enable the organization to achieve stakeholder goals and add analytical value to enterprise products.

This is a remote position and it can be located anywhere in the US.Essential Job Duties Understand business problems and opportunities in the context of requirements and recommend solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals. Identify and determine business requirements and define processes, including clarification on any requirement discrepancies. Document and analyze current business processes and determine improvements.

Reviews and edits requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to new processes, functionality, and/or proposed solutions. Develop and maintain effective processes for managing requirements, developing business processes, and providing production support to the operation. Communicate status, risks, and issues to the Sr.

Manager, Business & Process Analysis, senior management and/or the client, as appropriate. Monitor BA activities with the Business & Process Analysis Manager to ensure that all business analysis activities are allocated appropriately and executed as planned. Extract, aggregate, pivot, review, analyze, and present data in various formats using advanced features of MS Excel and other software tools.

Analyze practices, programs and policies, and organizational processes and make recommendations to add value and improve product performance in meeting operational needs. Document best practices and continuously measures outcomes for desired results. Work effectively with internal and external business partners in the delivery of solutions.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Business/Information Systems, or related field. Three (3) years working as a business or systems analyst with either operational business systems or enterprise business intelligence platforms (MicroStrategy, Tableau, Reporting Services, etc.). Two (2) years as a business analyst or related technical writing experience in the development of business requirements for business intelligence, data warehouse, or enterprise analytical systems. IIBA Certification in Business Analysis and/or familiarity with the BABOK preferred.

Experience implementing standards & best-practice frameworks in Business Analysis into an organization. Demonstrated ability to work successfully with business operations owners to understand business needs and document business processes. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated strong analytical/statistical skills.

Demonstrated ability to work as a team member, as well as independently. Demonstrated ability to successfully prioritize and execute many complex tasks simultaneously.

Demonstrated ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Exscel, Visio, Access, and other computer software applications. Demonstrated understanding of Business Process Modeling; exposure to modeling in Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN 2.0) preferred.

Knowledge of Call Center operations preferred.

Experience facilitating joint application development (JAD) sessions preferred.

Experience with program eligibility, enrollment or related government Health or Human Service programs preferred. Survey, research skills, and statistical skills including familiarity with data aggregation and data analysis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Apply strong analytical reasoning to understand end user's requirements and transforms them into operational application, particularly with respect to performance management data.- Acquire deep knowledge of working systems and bring efficient and effective changes for better performance across program.- Extract, analyze, and report data to support program activity and assist in management decision making.- Audit, evaluate, track, and report performance activity for Performance Management and contract compliance purposes (e.g., alignment with the program's service-level agreements).- Work closely with operations staff to define requirements, test criteria and identify success factors.- Train new hire classes on performance metrics and expectations for performance.- Identify performance coaching needs and work with performance coach and/or deliver coaching, as necessary.- Requires advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Work, Visio, Access).

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience.

Financial deliverables include financial and contractual analysis, claims utilization analysis and modeling, renewal projection and premium rate analysis and modeling. Responsibilities: * Set priorities and manage analytical work flow to ensure efficient, timely and accurate creation of deliverables and other responsibilities. * Responsible for the financial analytics for clients that are fully insured and self funded. Typical client size is 250 to 1,000 lives. * Prepare analyses, based on USI templates that may occasionally be customized, in accordance with client service calendar financial meetings (e.g. post renewal, mid-year, pre-renewal, renewal). Analyses may include but are not limited to: * Market review analysis * Renewal rate and funding projections and modeling * Analysis of claims utilization * Rate and Contribution analysis * Benchmarking * Financial funding analysis; e.g. fully insured versus self funded * IBNR and lag analyses * Utilize USI standard analytical tools and templates to develop alternative strategies, plan modeling and cost reduction opportunities. * Perform technical analysis of group insurance contracts and financial arrangements. * Serve as primary contact with insurance carriers for negotiating and marketing coverage for new business quotes and renewals, including: requesting quotes, evaluating & spreadsheeting options, negotiating rates and benefit features and, preparing renewal or new plan options with executive summary. * Develop and maintain excellent carrier relationships. * Review and validate carrier renewal rating illustration to explain to producer and account manager and also negotiate with carriers. * Independently analyze experience utilization data for financial and plan usage conclusions. Independently identify and articulate trends and relationship of experience to renewal rating. * Independently write client facing Executive Summaries that provide observations, conclusions, recommendations, and next steps. With guidance, articulate USI strategic objectives. * Prepare carrier and client written correspondence such as carrier renewal confirmation letters and client renewal letters. * Occasionally conduct analysis using USI internal and 3rd party external tools such as USI 3D, USI Clear Options Rx, and actuarial tools. * Participate in peer review process as a participant and a reviewer. * Occasionally participate in new Analyst on-boarding training. * Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
