As a Business Analyst at AccumTech you will join a cross functional team in managing a sophisticated healthcare data integration system. You will work directly with customers and partners to become a subject matter expert on their processes, needs, and capabilities. You will help investigate and resolve issues in complex data processing systems, perform data analysis and quality assurance reviews, and collaborate with our internal software development, project, and operational teams to help design and implement system enhancements and features. You will also monitor and manage day to day system operations to help ensure that the system is running smoothly. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator who has a love for taking on new challenges and working closely with teammates to solve complicated problems in an agile environment.

  • Become a subject matter expert on customer requirements, data needs, and capabilities
  • Perform in depth analysis on data files of varying formats
  • Perform research on ad hoc data being leveraged in current systems
  • Design specifications for internal software tools and processes that will used to support customers

  • Bachelors degree
  • 2+ years of experience in an IT related analyst role
  • Ability to think critically
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated capability to quickly learn custom software and business processes
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment and take on direct responsibility with a growing company

This position is responsible for a wide variety of charge related functionality and intradepartmental support. The successful candidate will have experience in organizational analysis, system and workflow process mapping and testing, report development, problem solving, communication and organizational skills. The position requires flexibility in taking on new work assignments and ability to work effectively as part of a team.</p><p>The Charge Integrity Business Analyst Sr is expected to work closely and promote an atmosphere of teamwork with other members of Charge Integrity as well as their peers in Revenue Cycle, to achieve department objectives and provide stellar customer service. The Analyst will function in the role of a consultant to Providers, Nursing, Clinical Department Management, HITS MiChart teams, Finance, and Revenue Cycle leadership and peers (Billing, Coding, HIM, Reimbursement Specialists, Compliance, Patient Business Services, Provider Enrollment, Audit/Appeals, Revenue Analytics, LPI).</p><p>Mission Statement</p><p>Michigan Medicine improves the health of patients, populations and communities through excellence in education, patient care, community service, research and technology development, and through leadership activities in Michigan, nationally and internationally. Our mission is guided by our Strategic Principles and has three critical components; patient care, education and research that together enhance our contribution to society.</p><p>Responsibilities*</p><ul><li><p>Assist Charge Integrity Analysts with questions, troubleshooting and testing.</p></li><li><p>Investigate charge capture issues, perform root cause analyses, analyze impact, evaluate risk factors, define pros/cons, and prepare presentations proposing and justifying build and workflow changes.</p></li><li><p>Work with Providers, Nursing, Clinical Department Management, HITS MiChart teams, Finance, and Revenue Cycle leadership and peers to oversee/execute the design, build, testing, training, and implementation of rule or workflow changes and optimizations.</p></li><li><p>Lead small projects, provide documentation, make recommendations, and present findings</p></li><li><p>Monitor implementations and evaluate outcomes to ensure the changes improve performance and result in optimal and compliant charge capture.</p></li><li><p>Assist in identifying areas of missed or inappropriate facility and professional revenue using billing, financial data and/or through process review of clinical, charge capture and/or billing operations</p></li><li><p>Assist with rule creation and WQ changes, including test script creation and execution to ensure proper rule functionality.</p></li><li><p>As assigned, work to investigate WQ backlog, identify issues, determine root causes, propose options to resolve issues, and work with others as needed to implement solutions.</p></li><li><p>When necessary, work with Clarity report writers to design reports not available through Reporting Workbench or Tableau.</p></li><li><p>Remain current on Payer specific regulations including subscribing to newsletters, reading articles/memos and attending seminars.</p></li><li><p>Maintain Revenue Guardian and ensure checks remain current and accurate.</p></li><li><p>Assist with MiChart Upgrade testing and monitor post go live.</p></li><li><p>Other projects as assigned.</p></li></ul><p>Required Qualifications*</p><ul><li><p>3-5 years' experience in a health care setting examples include:</p></li><li><p>Revenue Cycle coding, revenue integrity or reimbursement related work</p></li><li><p>3-5 years' experience in a health care setting examples include:</p></li><li><p>Revenue Cycle coding, revenue integrity or reimbursement related work</p></li><li><p>Patient Services role such as coordinator, technician, medical assistant, nursing assistant</p></li><li><p>System Analyst role for an electronic health record such as Epic, Cerner etc.</p></li><li><p>Associates degree in health care, business or equivalent combination of certification or education and experience</p></li><li><p>Strong analytical, and organizational skills</p></li><li><p>Self-starter and detail oriented</p></li><li><p>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated ability to analyze data and present results</p></li><li><p>Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint</p></li><li><p>Ability to thrive in a demanding environment, with extensive customer facing work</p></li><li><p>Great attendance record.</p></li></ul><p>Desired Qualifications*</p><ul><li><p>Obtain and maintain Coding Certification</p></li><li><p>In-depth Experience with Epic, electronic health record</p></li><li><p>Project management experience</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of University Health System policies, procedures and regulations.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of or experience in the delivery of patient care</p></li><li><p>Proficiency in Microsoft, Access, Visio, Toad DataPoint/Hyperion IR, Datamart,.</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with Payor Websites</p></li><li><p>Coding Certification- CPC, CPC-H or coding experience with certification obtained within first 12 months of employment.</p></li></ul><p>Background Screening</p><p>Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
