Job Summary

This position will oversee the Business Administration (BA) Associate in Applied Science program and transfer opportunities and provide instruction in several BAS courses such as, BAS 160 Introduction to Business, BAS 282 Principles of Marketing, and BAS 283 Principles of Management.

Anticipated start date: August 1, 2024.

Job Duties:

Coordinate all aspects of the BA program including instruction, development of course materials and resources, recruiting qualified adjunct instructors, budget management, and assessment of student achievement

  • Teach a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester, or a minimum of 24 credit hours in the Fall and Spring semesters combined.

  • Teaching assignments may include teaching at one or more of the college's campuses, online, or some combination thereof, based on the needs of the students

  • Demonstrated commitment to student success with supporting evidence

  • Guide student practicums and internships

  • Ensure the program meets and maintains all applicable regional accreditation requirements to include, annual Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs), Program Outcomes (POs), and Program Review

  • Engage in active student recruitment and retention activities

  • Maintain an awareness of transfer requirements for the 4-year institutions and work with them to facilitate transfer of students

  • Serve as the Chair of the BA Program Advisory Committee and seek its input in keeping the BA program current and relevant

  • Maintain an awareness of emerging business, and economic trends and issues

  • Represent the BA programs to community partners, groups, and professional organizations

  • Participate in faculty professional development

  • Serve as the College representative at the System BA Curriculum Committee

  • Collaborate with business and industry for internship placement, curriculum alignment, and program advisement

  • Assist BA adjunct instructors with teaching methodology, educational materials, and technology

  • Participate in college and community activities that serve the mission and vision of SKCTC.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master of Business Administration or equivalent is required, with 18 graduate hours in accounting.

  • Candidates should demonstrate proficiency with instructional technology, as well as written, verbal, and interpersonal communication

  • Candidates must possess a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, working with a diverse population, and the community and technical college mission
