POSITION SUMMARY

Office based in Hartford CT or Woonsocket RI

CVS Health, now one of the top companies in the United States, is seeking a Strategic Business Projects Senior Manager to support the Chief of Staff and the Office of the President for the Aetna Business Unit. The Strategic Business Projects Senior Manager is a critical leadership position that provides direct support to the Chief of Staff to ensure the enterprise achieves its strategic objectives. The Strategic Business Projects Senior Manager will work closely with the Chief of Staff in the execution of organizational priorities and track progress against them. The Strategic Business Projects Senior Manager will engage directly with key internal and external stakeholders and is expected to represent the organization in a responsible, clear and compelling way.

Your ability to partner with colleagues across both the CVS Health Enterprise and the Aetna Business Unit to ensure alignment of strategies is critical to success in this position. You will utilize your experience with critical thinking across multiple disciplines to provide guidance and ensure strong execution of plans.

Fundamental Components:

  • Provide guidance and manage activities and initiatives for the Office of the President (OOP) and the Chief of Staff

Serve as critical thought-partner to the Chief of Staff and the senior leadership team, providing sound input and maintaining complete confidentiality

  • Drive agenda and lead end-to-end preparation for monthly meetings of Aetnas top leaders to focus on critical strategic and enterprise topics

  • Lead team in end-to-end preparation of annual leadership meetings for top Aetna leaders focused on top strategic and business initiatives

  • Actively engage in the planning and execution of the Presidents participation in internal and external events (e.g., key stakeholder meetings and conference appearances, employee meetings/Town Halls, site visits, etc.)

  • Develop briefing documents and organize preparation materials and sessions prior to each event

  • Steer/support targeted top priority cross-functional projects throughout the year to ensure their success

Serve as a liaison and acts as the Chief of Staffs representative for targeted internal and external meetings and engagements

  • Ability to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality. Strong performance accountability orientation, both in terms of following through on commitments and deadlines

  • Strategic and analytical thinker, with superior problem-solving skills and the ability to look into the details while keeping in mind the strategy in place

  • Solid quantitative skills, coupled with broad business acumen

  • Excellent time management, planning and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities

  • Strong influencing and collaboration skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively with internal and external parties

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including sharing ideas and information across diverse audiences and creating compelling presentations

  • High degree of professionalism and executive presence required to interface with executives on a regular basis and partner with business owners

  • An interest and ability to effectively deliver in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment

  • Willingness to travel, as needed, and in support of business needs

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

  • MBA from top-tier school with 3+ years post-MBA experience.

  • 10+ years of experience in increasingly responsible communications leadership or business leadership roles, including experience with internal and external communications.

  • Experience in healthcare, consumer services, financial services and/or consulting preferred

  • Multiple years proven leadership experience setting strategic direction and influencing change that resulted in quantifiable positive outcomes.

  • Proven track record managing complex projects and or programs that resulted in cost savings.

  • Experience managing large budgets.

  • Project management experience.

  • Supervisory experience.

  • Demonstrated negotiation skills.

EDUCATION

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a MBA.
