REPORTS TO:

• Transportation Supervisor

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma. Post-secondary training in diesel bus maintenance or equivalent.

• Must have a valid Class B CDL with air brakes and school bus endorsement or the ability to obtain one soon as possible.

• A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.

• Pre-employment drug screening.

DUTIES:

• Ability to diagnose mechanical problems, make repairs and perform maintenance to Board owned vehicles, including buses, vans, trucks, etc.

• Prepare buses for required annual and spot State Highway Patrol inspections and make necessary repairs as noted in the state inspections.

• Maintain records of all repairs and maintenance of Board owned vehicles.

• Maintains a safe, clean and organized working environment.

• Ability to serve as a bus driver when needed.

• Ability to work in maintenance/utility when needed.

• Available to respond to transportation related emergencies.

• Ability to work on vehicles outside in inclement weather conditions.

• Ability to pull push up to approximately 300 pounds (on wheels).

• Models professional behavior, skills, ability and attitude.

• Ability to comply with safety regulations and environmental laws.

• Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee.

SALARY:

• Salary and Benefits as per the Negotiated Agreement:

Step 0 - $20.81, Step 1 - $21.30, Step 2 - $21.79, Step 3 - $ 22.30, Step 4 - $ 22.82, Step 5 - $23.35

The successful candidate must take personal pride and ownership in the maintenance and operations of the school buildings and grounds.
