Bus Mechanic

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.Must be at least 21 years of age

2.High School diploma or GED equivalent

3.Of good health and physical fitness without limitations

4.Mechanical experience in repair of school buses, or heavy duty trucks preferred

5.Possess or be eligible to obtain a valid Ohio Commercial driver's license (CDL), current and active bus driver certificate, successfully complete school bus driver physical, and have a clean driving record

6.Of good moral character

7.Excellent communication skills as it relates to working with students, staff and parents

8.Excellent organizational skills

9.Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find acceptable and appropriate

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Maintain a regular maintenance schedule for all buses.

2.Be responsible for the repair and mechanical upkeep of all district owned vehicles.

3.Use tools, equipment, machinery and vehicles provided by the district to accomplish job tasks.

4.Help to prepare buses for annual state inspection.

5.Maintain regular working hours and be on call at all times for emergencies.

PAY SCALE:

$24.43 - $34.69
