Job Summary

Under general supervision of the Manager of Transportation or designee and with the direction from the Dispatcher, the Bus Driver operates a school bus in a safe manner at all times to transport children including those with disabilities over designated routes and ensure the safety of passengers at all times.

Requirements / Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• Any combination of education equivalent to a high school diploma

• Any combination of training and experience which has provided the applicant with the required knowledge and abilities to successfully perform job duties Licenses and Certifications:

• A valid Class B-PS (Passenger School Bus) California Operator's License

• California Special Driver's certificate issued every five (5) years by the California Highway Patrol

• A valid Medical Certificate

• Maintain valid First Aid and CPR Certificate

• Certificate Copy (California Special Driver's certificate issued every five (5) years by the California Highway Patrol)

• Driver's License Copy (Class B)

• Letter of Introduction

• Letter(s) of Recommendation (3 Letters Required)

• Other (valid Medical Certificate)

• Proof of HS Graduation

• Resume

Comments and Other Information

Desirable Qualifications: - Three (3) years of school bus driving experience

• Experience working with Special Education students Available Stipends: - $150 per month incentive for the skills of reading, writing, and speaking Spanish, as certified by MCOE Position start date: 9/1/2024 Position will be for 6.5 hours
