  • DMV Printout (H6 dated with last 30 days )
  • Driver's License Copy (California Commercial Driver License : Class A or B with PS endorsements )
  • Other (Medical Examiner's certificate and First Aid card if required)

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY Position Responsibilities: * Conduct commercial vehicle inspections to ensure continual compliance of regional CMV fleet & vehicle operators. * Works in coordination with RVP, Regional Operations Manager and regional leadership to develop regional transportation safety program objectives and initiatives. Develops written objectives to coordinate regional initiatives and provides continual monitoring to accomplish goals set forth by RVP and Director of DOT Support. * Serve as Coordinator for CMV Core driver training within the region to sustain continual employee development. * Assists efforts of Human Resources in new Driver Qualification for all CMV operators and supports DOT Group in maintaining ongoing compliance across regional operations. * Serves as regional coordinator in driving the Lead Driver Initiative, assisting SBU in program development requests and working in conjunction with Director of DOT Support to facilitate a sustainable program within the region. * Acts as an active liaison between Director of DOT Support, Regional Leadership and Profit Center leaders in coordinating successful selections of qualified Lead Driver Candidates. Fosters relationship across all lines to identify, interview, coach and monitor efforts of all Lead Drivers with region to create an effective & sustainable New Driver Onboarding program. * Continual monitoring of Hours of Service (HOS) compliance programs for commercial vehicle operators; reports to management on weekly basis. Provides classroom & hands-on instructional training to all employees in the proper use of Electronic Logging Device (ELD). * Continual monitoring of Daily Vehicle Inspection report compliance programs, utilizing online tools to provide visibility to management on weekly basis. Provides ongoing instructional training to PC leadership, drivers and affected personnel in required commercial vehicle inspection process, documentation and repair. * Training of affected employees with Hazardous Materials transportation & compliance as necessary. * Work in coordination with Director of Transportation Safety Management Group in implementation of company initiatives, training program development, investigation of roadside CMV inspections, and other critical areas of overall compliance programs. * Work in partnership with Regional Safety Managers to provide cross-functional training and development. * Interact with peer groups within organization in mutual planning and development of strategic transportation safety initiatives. * Perform reviews of applicable motor carrier inspections & violations issued against Company vehicles / drivers to identify root causes and provide solutions for future avoidance. * Participates in DOT compliance reviews following preventable roadside inspections to facilitate corrective actions and determine opportunities for improvement within region. * Remain abreast of current transportation industry safety trends and regulatory requirements * Responsible for managing DOT documentation in an organized and efficient manner * Provide solutions for corrective actions to PC Management and Drivers through PC Wellness Visits as directed by Supervisor. Requirements: * Up to 50% overnight travel may be required. * Familiar with a variety of equipment rental industry concepts, practices, and procedures * External assignments may require working in environments possessing unknown hazards and risks. * Prudent professional judgment to effectively and diplomatically deal with Sunbelt personnel Education & Experience: * At least 5 years working knowledge of DOT compliance * Excellent safety track record and proven ability to implement safety culture * Possesses strong hands-on understanding of DOT regulations, including but not limited to: load securement, legal weights & hauling allowances, over-dimension permitting requirements, hours-of-service regulations and commercial vehicle inspection requirements. * Capable of high-impact, in-the-field training & instruction to commercial vehicle drivers on vehicle inspections, loading & unloading procedures, logbook documentation, and overall compliance with DOT and Company policies & procedures. Physical Demands: Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job. Some Sunbelt jobs may require driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions including rain, wind or excessive temperatures and/or night and weekend work.
