This position is a non-competitive Civil Service position.
Job Description:
Operate a school bus safely on a regular schedule.
Drive students to and from school, mid-day events and district shuttles.
Responsible for fueling, cleaning and disinfecting the inside and outside of the bus.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions as well as read and follow maps and GPS.
Ability to write legibly and be able to maintain route direction sheets and all other required documents.
Must be dependable.
Qualifications:
Possess and maintain a valid New York State Driver's License with no convictions for moving violations during the past year and appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.
License must include "PS" endorsements and driver must supply Basic Course Certificate.
Driver must be at least 21 years of age.
Candidates must satisfy all requirements of Article 19-A of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law in addition to the requirements for School Bus Driver set forth in the Rules and Regulations of the New York State Commissioner of Education and Nassau BOCES.
Salary:
As per contract.
