Our Ideal Candidate

  • Will be passionate about providing exceptional customer service

  • Have a CDL (A or B) with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements, and an excellent driving record

  • Or be able to obtain a CDL B with Passenger and Air Brake endorsement

  • Be able to obtain and enhance license or passport for traveling outside the United States

  • Be able to pass a DOT physical, drug and alcohol test

  • Pass a criminal background with no drug or alcohol convictions

VIEW JOBS 10/4/2022 12:00:00 AM 2023-01-02T00:00 <p>This Opportunity</p><p>WSP is currently searching for a part-time Bus Vehicle Quality Assurance Representative to work at several potential locations in the United States. Specifically, WSP is seeking candidates to represent Transit Agency procurements of new buses and re-furbishment of older buses as part of a midlife program and Qualaity Assurance audit inspections at various locations in the US.</p><p>This position reports to the Bus Fleet Group Manager, within WSP's Bus Fleet/Zero Emission Group. The selected individual will be responsible for providing part time, as needed technical expertise for the Bus Fleet/Zero Emission Group conducting resident inspection services for new bus manufacturing as well as inspection services at Agency locations. Inspections at Agency locations will be on various bus types including various length transit buses, commuter coaches, para- transit vehicles and support vehicles. The selected candidate will be supporting WSP's clients engaged in the procurement, maintenance and operation of bus fleets. The selected candidate must be capable of travel and short to long-term work periods including working nights. Experience in bus fleets and associated specifications, inspection process, safety standards such as the North American Out of Service Criteria, and recommended maintenance practices is mandatory</p><p>Be involved in projects with our Transit Bus and Rail Fleet and Facilities Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.</p><p>Your Impact</p><p>Duties and Responsibilities</p><ul><li><p>Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek</p></li><li><p>Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements</p></li><li><p>Ability to conduct Quality Assurance audits during the manufacture of new buses or re-furbishment during a bus midlife program</p></li><li><p>Ability to read and understand technical specifications and drawings, discern that vehicles are being built to specification, and negotiate compliance with manufacturers.</p></li><li><p>Ability to conduct full audit and inspection of buses, coaches and other transit vehicles at client locations and recognize and report defects.</p></li><li><p>Ability to interpret project requirements and procedures</p></li><li><p>Ability to read and understand specifications, electrical and mechanical drawings</p></li><li><p>Ability to use measurement tools in the performance of inspection tasks</p></li><li><p>Ability to coordinate with agency regulators and understand requirements.</p></li><li><p>Detailed reporting of all findings</p></li><li><p>Computer skills (Microsoft Word &amp; Excel)</p></li><li><p>People and communications skills working with clients, contractors, and colleagues</p></li><li><p>Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures</p></li><li><p>Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies</p></li><li><p>This role is subject to a client mandated drug/alcohol testing policy. As such, employee may be subject to random drug/alcohol tests. A copy of the client mandated drug/alcohol testing policy will be provided during employee onboarding and is available upon applicant request. &quot;</p></li></ul><p>Who You Are</p><p>Required Qualifications</p><ul><li><p>5+ years of experience relevant to this position. Relevant experience includes conducting resident inspection services for new bus manufacturing as well as inspection services/re-furbishment of older buses.</p></li><li><p>Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or closely related discipline or equivalent working experience.</p></li><li><p>Must be capable of travel and short to long-term work periods including working nights.</p></li><li><p>Experience in bus fleets and associated specifications, inspection process, safety standards such as the North American Out of Service Criteria, and recommended maintenance practices is mandatory.</p></li></ul><p>Preferred Qualifications</p><ul><li><p>10+ years of experience working with large transit vehicles/busses.</p></li><li><p>Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management; including active involvement in a variety of rehabilitation and new design projects.</p></li></ul><p>#LI-AS1</p><br> WSP Kalamazoo MI
