Job Description:

The Bus position will perform a variety of duties to maintain kitchen work areas and dining areas in clean, orderly condition. Responsibilities include clearing, cleaning and sanitizing tables and seating according to company standards; setting tables with the appropriate silverware, glass, and china; and maintaining neat and clean work station during service; provides the highest quality of service to the customer at all times; performs all other responsibilities as directed by the business or as assigned by management.

This is a non-exempt position and typically reports to the Assistant Manager, Store Manager, or General Manager, depending upon local requirements. Essential Functions:Monitors the establishment (front-of-the-house) for cleanliness and newly vacant tables

Cleans and sanitizing tables and seats according to division standards

Transports bus pans to the dish room; breaks down the bus pan and sorts china and silverware Changes soaking solutions in the silverware holding pans Assists in preparing silverware for daily usage

Patrols assigned station, refills water and coffee, removes service items and condiments per establishment procedures

Properly cleans and fills table condiments (salt & pepper, sugar, napkins, ketchup and mustard bottles) Performs set-up and stocks the food and beverage area or other assigned areas as requires Cleans, sweeps, and mops floors

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment: Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customers

Frequently immerses hands in water and water diluted with chemical solutions

Requires the ability to lift/push objects weighing over 40 lbs.Requires the ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions

Metro Transit is currently seeking bus drivers who are dedicated, career-oriented individuals with strong interpersonal skills who enjoy interacting with and serving the public. What you would do in this job: * Perform pre-trip bus inspections. * Complete inside and outside inspections of the bus. * Safely operate the bus according to pre-determined routes and schedules. * Provide courteous service to all customers by greeting passengers and answering questions concerning fares, schedules, and other general concerns and inquiries. * Ensure the safe boarding and timely transportation of riders. * Complete forms and paperwork such as operating and accident/incident reports. * Call out streets while driving per ADA requirements. * Repeat inside and outside inspections of the bus at each layover or end of route. * Perform other related duties as apparent or assigned. Weekday part-time drivers are guaranteed 30 hours per week. Work a split shift, Monday through Friday, 2½ to 3 hours on average during each of these time periods: 5:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. Weekend/Holiday part-time drivers work on weekends and holidays, which can start as early as 12:01 a.m. on Saturday and can go as late as 3 a.m. Monday and all holidays. What education and experience are required for this job (minimum qualifications) * Must have been actively driving with a valid driver's license, any class, for the past five years. Required for position: * Class A or B commercial driver's license with Passenger Endorsement and no restriction to Air Brakes (may obtain commercial learners permit to add endorsement or remove restriction) * Class C or D driver's license with a Commercial Learner's Permit to include General Knowledge, Air Brakes and Passenger tests. Driving record may not contain more than two (2) moving violations and/or suspensions, withdrawals or revocations within the past three (3) years.Candidates may not have any of the following convictions within the past ten (10) years: * DWI/DUI * Careless or reckless driving * Inattentive driving * Open-bottle * Leaving the scene of an accident * Committing a felony while operating a motor vehicle * Refusing to comply with implied consent * Violating state or local law (other than parking violations) arising in connection with a fatal accident High School Diploma, GED or Foreign EquivalentThree (3) years of full-time work within the past seven years or, steady, part-time work equivalent. (Applicants are required to include a complete work history for the past seven years in the work history section of their application.)Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English in order to learn training materials, communicate with customers and write reports. Additional information: Union/Grade: ATU/Grade 45 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Safety Sensitive: Yes. Subject to random DOT drug tests. Work Environment: Position works both inside and outside in varying weather and environmental conditions. One-third to two-thirds of the time works near moving parts or equipment, vibrations and around toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles. Typical noise level for this position is loud. Physical Requirements: Regularly required to sit for long periods, stand/walk occasionally, speak using a two-way radio, hear normal conversations over a two-way radio, reach with hands/arms frequently below chest height, and bend, stretch and secure wheelchairs with a 4-point lap/shoulder belt. Occasionally reach overhead and lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds. Must have adequate close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
