Globalfoundries Fab 9 is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Facilities Electrical Instrumentation and Controls Technician to become part of our Essex, Vermont team. Candidate will Perform routine and emergency maintenance on analog electrical, electronic and pneumatic equipment and networks used to collect, process, transmit, receive and record data, and to regulate the operation of the final control elements in wastewater treatment processes; Individual will also be responsible to perform periodic inspections, testing, adjustments, calibrations and servicing activities necessary to assure the proper operation of process instrumentation and control systems in the wastewater treatment process; participate in the performance of periodic plant operational integrity and safety tests to verify the proper operation of fire detectors, hazardous and explosive gas detectors, process alarm instrumentation, protective monitoring systems, and computerized control system fault detection and fail over functions. Technicians must be able to work in a team environment with a focus on customer satisfaction.
Perform operational systems tests and fault diagnostics to identify and correct electrical, pneumatic and electric analog and computer system failures;
Employ computer system diagnostic programs, computer control console switches and indicators, and logic analyzers to locate and replace defective circuit boards and modules in computers and computer peripherals, and repairs digital interfaces.
Perform functional tests to identify and correct telemetry system failures
Perform acceptance tests of new equipment and inspect the installation of equipment and systems for conformance with plans and specifications
Perform original design work required to implement analog and digital system modifications
Prepare new, or modify existing operating and maintenance procedures
Order supplies and prepare maintenance service reports
Use maintain, and repair electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic test instruments.
Perform specialized staff work related to control systems
Support complex troubleshooting of facilities equipment and associated failures
Partner with other Technicians and Management in identifying training requirements and safety procedures in assigned areas
Partner with Engineers and Technicians on various facilities projects
Perform additional duties as assigned and assist other specialty areas as required
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
High School or Graduate from a Technical/Associates Degree in Science, Engineering, Semi-Conductor Manufacturing or Related Discipline
Or 5 Years of Industrial / Commercial System Experience
Fluency in English Language written & verbal
Physical Capacity Demands Ability to perform work in a standing position for majority of shift (excluding breaks)
Ability to lift, pull, and/or carry a minimum of 50 pounds on a periodic basis throughout the shift
Ability to perform activities that include climbing vertical ladders, bending at waist, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and crawling
Ability to work in a cleanroom environment per semi-conductor protocol/requirements
Demonstrated knowledge of Semiconductor FAB systems and related equipment
Demonstrated ability to operate computer programs including Microsoft Office
Preventative maintenance software and automated building control systems knowledge a plus.
Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation.
Demonstrated work performance in an environment requiring high level of attention to detail and timeliness.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize activities.
Demonstrated mechanical abilities with experience in maintenance and operation of equipment
Strong team player with ability to work well within a global team
